Hey. Just wondering if you need the 500k thb equivalent in your account for 3 months? I've seen tons of contradicting info on this and looking for some clarity if possible. I'll be applying from Hanoi, vietnam. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a visa from Hanoi, it is generally recommended to have 500,000 THB in your account for at least 3 months prior to application. However, experiences vary; some applicants have been approved with funds held for shorter periods, such as 2 months or even 2 weeks. While it's not a strict rule, having seasoned funds (consistent balance over time) is considered safer, as some embassies may request evidence of funds for longer durations, such as 6 months, to avoid any issues during the application process.

They almost always want to see that 500k sitting there for the full 3 months. If you just dropped the money in recently, they'll likely flag it. Better to have that 90-day history if you can to be safe!

Its embassy dependant

I applied from Hanoi and only had 2 months and got accepted yesterday

And I know one lad who only had it in for 2 weeks and also got accepted

Not saying it’s 100% but that’s been our experience

Yes you do. It is also very likely they will ask for 6months as well to clarify. My friend warned me of this before hand, when I submitted my documents were very straight forward, I went ahead and submitted 4 months anyways and they still asked for 6 months. It was approved after that, took 12 days

See, seasoned funds is the safer bet while some cases have been approved in Hanoi with funds for lesser duration. Recommended is to have seasoned funds.
