I am a South African and my son is 16. May I travel from Cambodia (where I currently live) to Bangkok in December with my son or do I need a document from my husband consenting to such travel? My husband can only join us later in December hence my question TIA.

Hey friends, in October i'll be flying from the philippines to Thailand with my wife (filipina) and kids, she wanted to visit bangkok and see the legendary city, any recommendations on hotels near tourist attractions, maybe one with a pool? And would have to accomodate 2 adults and 2 kids (i've found several hotels that say i need 2 rooms for 4 people). Any help would be awesome and feel free to PM. Also any recommendations on must see tourist stuff would be awesome also.

Help! Accidental overstay?

First, I know this is totally our fault, we should have checked the stamp, and we didn't.

Situation: we left home (New Zealand) at the start of April and were granted a multi-entry tourist visa (METV)about 2 weeks before we left. This is the one where you can stay up to 60 days at a time. We arrived in Bangkok at the start of April, so naturally assumed we had 60 days to leave. We have been holidaying in Hua Hin.

We want to do an extension so were going to head into an office this week (it has been 50ish days) - we just looked at our passports and the stamp says our entry date and then only 30 days later the exit date (at the start of May). But on the page prior it has our full page for the METV and the date it was granted. Have we accidentally overstayed? Was this a stamp error? Is there any way to explain the situation?

I feel like we made the effort of going through the full formal visa process and paying all the full fees (for all 5 of our family members) and now we face an absolutely massive fine if we've overstayed 😭

Hello, I’m just trying to get my head around something. We are a family heading to Thailand later this year but my partner is coming out a month ahead of my son and me. If he applies for a 60 day visa in advance, and then we do the same for a month later, it seems as though we will always be out of sync in terms of extending visas and doing visa runs- can anyone think of a way around this?

Also we want to stay until the end of Jan 2025. Partner will arrive around 25th August and son and I around 27th Sept. Does my partner have enough time allowed to be able to stay until the end of Jan?

Can anyone suggest the simplest way we could manage our situation please? 🙏🏻

THAILAND VISA:

We will be traveling as a family - two adults and two children.

What is the best solution for applying for a visa for a trip of 78 days? Is it a 60 day multiple entry visa, where you have an "exit" ticket after 60 days? Or are there other and much better solutions. Thanks in advance.

The embassy of Thailand in France is pretty useless when it comes to getting a tourist visa.

I requested one for me, my husband and our 2 kids more than a month before we leave. We prove everything requested (money, utilities bills etc).

1 day before we leave France, we get a request for more information (mariage certificate, even though our married names are on the passports, birth certificates for the kids) with the comment that we should move our trip by a week or so, as they now need more time and they will not issue the visa once we left France (we do for 2 weeks in the UAE, so would have been plenty of time).

Of course I am not postponing my trip and paying another 4k euro or so.

Simply means I have wasted 140 euro and still need to find a way to extend while we are in Koh Lanta.

Especially annoying as my friend who went through the same in the Netherlands didn't have any of this and got it sorted in 2 weeks.
