Hi guys, hoping for some advice. I am getting close to the time to extend my retirement non O for 12 months. I have some holidays planned for October. I am wondering if I should start the process before or after I come back for hols (inside Thailand) do immigration hold on to your passport for any time ? If I apply beforehand and they give me a date to return is it negotiable? Can I ask for a date after I return ? (Still before my current extension runs out ) thanks 🙏
With an initial 90 day O visa, how early can you do the extension? And on the other side, how soon do you need to do the extension? The 90 day O visa expires on 13 October.
I am planning to apply for the DTV soft visa (thinking about applying in Indonesia), but I am facing a timing issue and would appreciate some advice.
I need to leave Thailand in mid September. One of the requirements is to show 500,000 THB in a bank account for 3 months. The account has only been funded since the end of August, so technically the 3-month period would run through August, September, and October.
My questions:
* Does it make sense to wait until early October and then apply, since it would be around 3 months, or is it a strict requirement that I need to complete the full 3 months?
* Should I try applying already in mid September, when I leave Thailand, for example in Indonesia or another embassy, or would that be a waste of time if the funds have not been in the account long enough?
* If I really need to wait, what would you recommend in the meantime? Should I just get another visa exempt entry? This would be my third this year, and I hold an EU passport.
Thanks for any advice from people who have gone through this process.
So I've decided to go for a retirement non o visa, I'm 66 in December and been advised from a lot of people on here and else where that a bronze elite visa at my age was stupid, I'm flying out to Thailand for good at the start of December, when is the best time to start my application,is it too early to start and send it off now,
Hi all, so here's my situation...on September 14, which is a Sunday, my visa runs out. If I could get it extended on that day, all would be fine for my exit from Thailand on October 12. However, because it is a Sunday, I either have to get it extended on the Friday, and then be a day or 2 late when leaving the country or be 1 day late for the extension. My thoughts are it would be best to be a day late asking for an extension but would like to know what would happen either way as I don't want it marked on my passport if avoidable.
I am interested in applying for DTV visa for muay thai in chiang mai. I won't be looking at coming to Thailand until September next year due to prior commitments and work in the UK. I am currently travelling in Thailand and trying to gather as much information as possible but have been given conflicting answers on this. Some say 3 months, 45 days etc.
Does anyone know when what's the earliest I can apply for my visa before coming to Thailand in September.
I would like to apply sooner rather than later for security as I have would need to hand in my notice 2 months in advance.
Sorry, once again. I just apply for a METV in the Vienna Embassy.
On different intertnetsides you can read that you can apply 3 month in advance before entering Thailand.
In this forum it was said, you have to apply very shortly before departure, because the 6 month start with getting the approval, so in this case you will have much less then the six months for staying in the country.....
