I'm not trying to do an extension or border bounce. My plan has always been to go from Bangkok over to Siem Reap and stay there for a month.

I have read several posts recently about the possibilty and/or need to provide 'proof of departure' out of Thailand, either to an air carrier heading towards Thailand or to the customs and immigration agents upon entry into the country.

There have been mentions of booking a 'real', cheap, one-way ticket out of the country or using the Onward Ticket app. One response mentioned that a bus doesn't count because it only takes you to the border. Since I am leaving the day after Christmas, cheap airfare wasn't an option.

Does my full-transit one-way Giant Ibis ticket from Bangkok to Siem Reap work as proof? I'm spending a month there in Cambodia before coming back to Bangkok for 6 weeks then on to Vietnam for three months.

Hi all thanks for the add. A border question. If I’m arriving and departing Thailand by land, via Malaysia, do I still need proof of planned departure? Would a bus or train ticket do?! And I presume visa requirements are the same at a land border as at an airport?

TIA

First, I really appreciate this group! I'm sorry I have posted so many questions lately🤦‍♀️ but we really appreciate all of the valuable advice! 🙏

I'll be applying for a tourist visa here at my Consulate and change to non B on arrival. I've been told I need to show exit travel. Other than airfare, does immigration generally accept bus train tickets to the border as proof of departure?

Also, any recommendations on health and car insurance would be great appreciated! 😊 Many, many thanks!

I'll apply for a tourist visa in Vientiane, Laos. I need to provide -Travel itinerary to and from Thailand-

If I provide a screenshot of a flight schedule to depart Thailand later this year, but not proof of purchase (confirmation), will I be denied a visa?

Thanks

Hello.

I am planing to cross the border from Vientiane. Plan is to get my visa on arrival but will I be required to show proof of departure from country? How many options are available for visas on arrival for Americans?

When I apply for a SETV in Ho Chi Minh City, I know I need proof of departure from Thailand, but do I need to have a ticket showing what day I will be entering Thailand?

Hi, just checking when applying for the tourist visa I usually only book a flight ticket as the proof of leaving Thailand after the 60-90 days are up, is it okay to book a bus out of Thailand as part of the proof instead of a flight or do they only like the flights out as proof?

Thanks

I have lived in Thailand for 5 years volunteering, however I am no longer volunteering, and I am looking at returning and doing an education visa. I am curently in USA, I am wondering a few things, 1. when I return to thailand, do I need to show proof of departure from Thailand? we bought round trip tickets from thailand, so I currently don't have a departure ticket. 2. Can my kids follow on a Ed Visa? they are homeschooled. 3. Can a spouse follow on a Ed Visa?
