Hi

I have a BBL account in Pattaya and have now moved to Khon Kaen and had to open a new BBL account there.

Now I have 2 bank books.

At the bank they said that I can show both bank books when I extend my retirement visa for the second time.

I want to transfer the entire 800k to the new bank account.

When should that be (I would like to do it now)?

Do I still have to show the bank documents from the old bank in Pattaya (if the bank account is near empty) when I extend my visa for the 1 year (it won't be easy logistically to do everything on the same day)?

I won't be a tax resident until 2025.

Is there anything to consider regarding taxes regarding the timing of the transfer of the 800k from the old to the new bank?

TIA

800k Baht question: I put 800k baht in a Thai bank, get a three months extension, and let it sit there for two months? Then I go back to the immigration office and get a 12 months visa stamp.

What happens if I spend 700k baht of it? What I've heard is that it shouldn't go below 400k baht in the bank account.

Hi,

My Retirement visa extension was just approved in Phuket.

My question is thisā€¦

I want to change banks. I realize I canā€™t do it before the 3 months after extension approval but is there a rule whereby you canā€™t move the 800k?

Hi. I got from the Thai Embassy in Spain a multientry 1 year length O-A visa valid from Sept 2023 to Sept 2024.

I plan to fly to Thailand on November 2023. Will I get 1 year stay stamp on my passport until November 2024? I read some posts here mentioning they just got only 90 days and after it need to extend 1 year.

In order to extend this visa next November 2024 (if this is the case) I plan to go with 800K method. I have few doubts about it.

1. Can I transfer the money on any date and still will be ok for the extension? Let's say I send it on December 2023 to avoid possible new taxation regulation coming next year ? or would it be too early to be accepted for the extension next year ?

2. Do I need to tag the bank wire as "to renew O-A visa" similar as the transfers to buy a condominium where it needs to state "to buy xxx condominium" ?.

3. Once the 800k are transfered to my Thai bank account, do I need to open a fixed deposit or can it be in any savings account ? is it enough just to show any thai bank account with average balance over 800k?

Thank you so much in advance. I really enjoy reading all your posts here. it's a great source of aknowledge helping all of us.

Hi everybody

My retirement visa expires on October 8th.

I transfered money on my bank account in order to have the 800k 2 months before my visa application at immigration office.

I waited too long to update my bookbank and now the transfer doesn't appear on it.(didn't know that if you don't update it regularly old transactions won't appear).

I will anyway need a bank statement but do you think that the transfer not showing on the bookbank and the balance>800k not showing as well at the date I transfered the money might cause a problem?

My IO is Petchaburi.

Does anyone have the list of the required documents there ?

Guess it's the same than in other offices but wanted to be sure

Thank you

Hello. I'm thinking to apply Non-O retirement visa with 800K method next year and my question is:

Q. I already have 800K in Thai Bank because i've been lived in chiangmai for 5 years with different visa.( Current visa will be expire next year)

Does Immigration require that 800K must be transfer from oversea( International transfer)? OR, as long as you have 800k in the thai bank, they will approve Non-O retirement visa??

I believe that when your applying for a non-O retirement visa in Thailand that they want except a combination of pension and funds in a Thai bank account to equal 800k.

Would appreciate any feedback back on this .

I have a non O dependent visa and will apply for a long stay (retirement) extension in Phuket shortly. I have the required 800k that I havenā€™t touched for years sitting in a e-passbook fixed deposit with SCB. I get online statements and there is no ā€™bookā€™ to updateā€¦ it stays in the same account and rolls over when it becomes due.

My question is this. Has anyone used this kind of account at Phuket immigration for their 800k? Will they accept official stamped SCB bank printouts to show the continuity of the deposit, without a book because this account doesnā€™t have one?

TIA
