Has anyone been able to use SCB bank for the regular monthly 65k transfer requirement in Chiang Mai immigration? The transaction code shows as RIS (which is international transfer) on my e-statement for the regular payments I make from my Uk bank account?

I know I have to use 800k for the first application which I have, but after that I want to move to the 65k which I have already been doing for 8months and so then at what point can I take the 800k out?

TIA
Answer summary
The discussion centers around the use of SCB bank for meeting the 65k monthly transfer requirement for visa extensions at Chiang Mai immigration. Users share their experiences and suggestions about the transition from an 800k to a 65k requirement, including concerns about transaction codes and the safety of relying on this method. Key points include maintaining 12 consecutive 65k deposits, that the 400k can be withdrawn after the new extension is approved, and the recommendation to keep funds at 800k until close to application to avoid complications.

Best to top up to 800K two months before you apply for the extension JUST IN CASE something goes sideways with your 65K monthly method extension. If the monthly method is approved and inked in then you can remove the 800k.

You can reduce the 800k to 400k after you're 3 months into your extension then it never needs to go back to 800k if you're doing the 65k method (note - make sure you will have at least 12 consecutive 65k international deposits when your extension application will be submitted). The 400k can be withdrawn when your new 65k method extension is inked in.

Graham Seal I pretty sure that has to go back 800k two months before the expansion then you show your monthly statement once accepted the 800k is yours to do whatever you want

No, not if you have successfully completed the 12x 65k transfers, it only needs to be at 400k then at the time of the application

Graham Seal that was a great plan until Bangkok Bank locked my account from accepting deposits for one full month. If your advice is followed, and something odd happens, that person loses their visa! I kept the 800,000 for 12 months and it sure worked out well for me. I am trying the ฿65,000 method again this year, let's cross our fingers!

OP
Graham Seal thanks - very clear and as i thought. I just need to make sure they accept the code from SCB bank, i see quite a few posts of people having issues with other banks, but i haven't seen anyone mention SCB either way.
