TLDR : Answer Summary
The general requirement for having 800,000 baht in your account before applying for a retirement visa extension is typically two months, although some offices may stipulate a three-month requirement. For converting a visa to a NON-O visa, there is generally no specific timeframe, except in places like Jomtien where a two-month seasoning may be necessary. There was a concern raised about potential taxation of the initial 800,000 baht. Additionally, one user expressed frustration with group moderation regarding immigration questions.

hi again do you know if Hua Hun IO has a seasoning of 800,000? The thing is I am near to buying a condo where I rent. If I buy it my cash can't be seasoned for more than a month.
ok. Thanks. I thought it was. Bit of a problem for someone who's on extension based on marriage, and wife wants divorce just before they are 50 and almost due to apply for extension. π‘
won't matter much. Even if they get the extension done it's invalid the day the marriage is officially ended. You can't ride out the rest of the year on the extension.
there's a child of 12 to consider. The house is rented with funds from his family. No reason they can't make a plan after September to change reason for 1 year extension to retirement then get divorced?
can change at the time of extension. Should technically be able to change if there's a divorce as well but would need to discuss with the immigration office to see if they're on board with the idea.
so maybe if she agrees to the extension based on marriage, and him then changing to retirement extension once money is seasoned and a divorce after that, would it be feasible? The renewal is due sept and he's 50 in September. What a mess. π€¦
if using an agent this year, does that tie the person to using the agent every year? They say they use their sponsorship funds, but if he has the money already they wouldn't need to do this. It's help with the actual process he needs most of all. I'll talk to the agents recommended here. Thanks for your help.
you need to find an agent that will take them to the correct immigration office and walk them through everything. Not an agent that takes the passport and comes back with a stamp. Because that stamp could be from anywhere and that's where the issues would start
yes. That's a point. He needs time for family to raise the extra money to put in account. So it's seasoned. But don't think anyone's got the extra cash spare.
he's due to extend on basis of marriage. Been married 12 years. I believe, he does not need to agree to the divorce and hes suggested they come to an agreement for a time ahead ( 50 in September) once funds are seasoned.
