Hi all,

i’m currently applying for the DTV visa as a business owner from Ho Chi Minh City and have submitted all the documents according to the website.

As expected, they are asking for revised documents for everything, but more specifically for 6 months of salary slips, to be highlighted in the financial statement.

As I currently run my startup on personal savings to avoid double taxation, I do not pay myself any salary.

I’m afraid if I explain this to them, they will decline my visa because I don’t have evidence of regular income.

Again, I’m not applying as an employee or freelancer, but as the company owner. I have one employee who receives a regular salary.

Has anyone encountered this situation?

Thank you so much upfront.

Anyone here successfully used the "airport limos" in bkk airport? The golf carts... I've tried to engage the people a couple of times and get waved on like a leper.

Approved in HCMC.

Firstly, thanks to all of you who gave such valuable information on this forum. It has helped me immensely to get here with an approved DTV.

After a few months of planning and not knowing where to apply. I had looked into several of the soft options as well as workation. As I am only just starting as a freelancer, I decided that was not the safest option due to not being able to prove my freelance income yet.

Then, I considered the seminar route due to it being the cheapest but found out that applying through Spain (where I was based) would not get an approval via the seminar softpower.

So, as I also do need to get back to a better level of fitness (55 years old), I went the Muay Thai route. Flew to Bangkok, visited [tigereyemma]([members only]/) gym and was happy with them and their interaction all the way. If you choose Muay Thai, I do recommend this gym.

Landed in HCMC on Sunday the 2nd and submitted the next day. Got a request for further documentation. (all pages of passport, 6 months bank statements and proof of income) Submitted that with new freelance contract and a cover letter explaining my situation, also added that I once had the wish to teach in Thailand in 2007 and did the TEFL here but they just changed the laws and due to me not having a uni degree I was not able to work in Thailand a s a teacher. I did explain in the letter I had several options from schools that were willing to bend the rules but I had no intention to live in Thailand while not fully legal.

Approved at the end of the 5th working day after submitting the extra documentation.

I like to believe that my cover letter did help my situation somewhat.

Now some more holiday here in Vietnam without the nail biting and flying back to bkk at the end of this month.

Hey guys, has anyone gotten a DTV for workcation in a situation similar to mine? My situation is that I’m currently not earning a monthly income and haven’t had much income in the last three months. However, I have a strong portfolio showing what I do and sufficient funds in my country’s bank account.

Another question: what should I fill in for the place of issue? My passport is Japanese and was issued in Osaka, Japan. Should I write “Osaka, Japan” ?

Just some information/experience I would like to share at Phuket airport and for those still things about whether or not to apply for the DTV..

I was thinking about applying for a DTV soft power Muay Thai, but was not to sure yet (or maybe a little to lazy), then this happened today:

My son and I came back to Phuket today, by air, after spending a week on Bali.

I made the mistake of not booking an exit ticket (which I normally would, but they never asked before). This time they did ask and I told them honestly that I did not have one, because my daughter (12) is coming back on the 29th of march and we want to make a choice as a family as where to go next.

Stupid I know 🤦🏽‍♀️

I told them I would book an exit ticket right on the spot if that is really needed, but we got taken for interrogation anyway 😖

First time for everything.

I answered their questions as honestly as I could, also when they asked if we would come back after leaving again and I told them we might be.

So they asked what we do here in Thailand and I let them know we do some diving and Muay Thai.

Then they smiled and asked me to come in the office, she told me I should apply for the DTV soft power and made me take a picture of the flyer in their office.

Then she asked me to follow her to the booth and told me they will grant us the 60 day exemption, but urged me to apple for the DTV.

It will be more difficult for those travelling on visa exemptions and extensions and told me she couldn’t guarantee they wil let us enter, because of the multiple entries on exemptions and the extensions 🥺

If I apply for a DTV from the USA, is there any stipulations of length that I have to prove how long I've had my 500k bhat in the bank before applying? Thank you 🙏🏻

Hi, I submitted my documents late Monday night in HCMC, and it's still showing as "pending document check." How long does this status usually last?

Hi guys, my application just got canceled. I submitted it at the Tokyo embassy, and I want to know how I should have submitted the ‘passport place of issue.’ Can anyone help?

Any advice would be very helpful for me. Thank you in advance!

And Just to note, I heard that many people are currently trying to submit their applications, which is causing delays. The staff recommended that I try submitting from other locations, such as Laos or Hanoi.

Does anyone know difference between cancellation and rejection of DTV?

Because I got cancelled by Hanoi Embassy and they didn’t give me any explanation.

I don’t know what else to know.
