Can we settle this once and for all.. when re-entering Thailand with DTV…
(Entering after your soft power activity has ended) what is the best thing to say to IO as to why you’re coming back into the country (if you’re coming back to live off savings)? Option A - I’ll be on vacation …or option B - I plan to find another course to enroll on
• Nov 29, 2025–Feb 26, 2026 (60 days + 30-day visa extension)
I’m planning to get married in Thailand with my Thai fiance, I was in my country’s embassy today and it came out that the document that I took from my country it is not enough (I didn’t make the stemple under the Certificate of Martial Status that I took from Poland, I should go to the Ministry of the foreign affairs in Poland and to Thai embassy in Poland before coming here.. ), so I have to do everything over again now trough the embassy here, but the problem is that I will have to wait 14 days from Feb 17 (my next planned visit there to complete the documents) and the bigger problem is that I can be here legally until 26.02..
so it means, I will have to leave Thailand and come back here when the documents are ready and then marry here.
I’m wondering: can I enter Thailand again basing on a tourist stamp or do I need a tourist visa this time?
Is it a good idea to go to the immigration office where I was making the extension and just ask them about it and tell all the information? 💀
Is it even a good idea or risky situation?
I have never had tourist Visa before here, so I don’t know it it is hard to get it. I was thinking about going to Vietnam to do it. I never did visa run away also.
Everything seems to be so complicated, but I can not live without my fiance anymore, not like this - that’s why i don’t want to go back to my country. I was trying to find a job here, I have master’s degree, but it is not a teaching season yet and they told me to wait until March/April.
Any experience or advice would be greatly appreciated! 🙏
Update: my real estate provided all the documents I needed and I was able to go to immigration (udon thani) and file it myself. They glanced over the documents and just added a new 90 day report to my passport. In and out in less than 10 mins.
Hi folks, just did my first re-entry into Suvarnabhumi from Sydney. No problems at all, no questions, just stamped and on my way. One question I have however is, ive heard i have to have my tm30 filed again. Is that true? I'm still at the same address. And is there anything else in regards to immigration that i need to do since ive re-entered?
Another question about the 6 month Tourist Visa....I understand that the 6 months begins on date visa is issued. But since you are not yet in the country. And you have to do 1 or 2 visa runs (every 60 days (or 90 if you get an extension)). This means you don't get a full 6 months in country, right? I assume you must depart country by end of 6 months after visa issue? Or do you get the full 60/90 days on the last re-entry, thus putting you outside the 6 month (180 day) period for your departure? Does this make sense? Thanks again for any clarification.
If I get for the DTV via soft power muay thai, and leave Thailand at the required 6 month mark, when I come back into the country, do I have to keep going to the muay thai classes to be allowed re-entry? This is one thing I am a bit confused on.
I entered Thailand on 9 December using my DTV visa. On arrival, I received an entry stamp valid until early June.
My question:
With this visa, can I enter and exit Thailand multiple times without issues, as long as the DTV visa itself is still valid? Or are there known cases where re-entry was questioned or refused?
I’m specifically looking for first-hand experiences (recent, preferably 2024/2025), not assumptions or hearsay.
We are DTV holders and got our visas from our home country. In 2025 we have already flown in and out of Thailand 4 times. Each stay is usually around 3 months, then we fly to another country for a short holiday about a week and come back again.
By the end of 2025, our total time in Thailand will be around 240 days. We are planning to fly to Laos again in January and return after a week.
Just wondering if anyone here has stayed in Thailand for a similar number of days in 2025 and still had no issues re entering at the airport? We would really love to hear your experience.
We have 2 cats waiting for us in Bangkok, so we are a bit nervous about the possibility of being denied entry 😅
Under DTV, can I stay the full 5 years leaving and coming back to Thailand right after every 6 months?
I read I can extend for more 180 days inside the country one time... Is this rule only apply once for the entire 5 years? Or after 360 days I can leave the country come back get 6 more months and extend inside the country for more 6 montha again an so on?
