Information for educational visa in thailand.

There are two types one is for university study and the one I am giving information on is "Soft Power Education" this includes thai boxing language and such

There is two things to this. The soft power education visa is permission from the Educational Ministry to learn for one year.

What you get from immigration is a 3 month stamp that you have to extend with fee 1900 baht ( 50 USD ) also ontop of this you still have to check in every 90 days which can be done on an app on your phone or in-person at immigration office.

If you miss extension or have to leave for any reason and you mis the time frame to extend you have to start back over and the educational visa is 20,000 baht .. ( 500 )

I just did this today and was given full explanation by the school doing my visa.

Hope this helps someone else šŸ™ and I was explained that bank accounts are not given for these soft power education or hard to get just FYI

May I seek any kind advise?

I am heading to Thailand for an urgent medical treatment and will be reentering Thailand (60 visa exemption + 30days) at least twice.

Can I ask if the above arrangement, would I be liable for tax in Thailand?

Any kind advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Submitted : 16th of April

Asked for additional documents: 18th

Pending approval: 22th

Approved: 6th of May (today!)

Nationality: french

I did everything through issa compass agency because I was rejected the first attempt because of my complicated surname and i didnt want to risk it again. I paid around 5k baht for the service and they refund you everything (including government fees) if rejected. The documents were the usuals.

The wait was excruciating but finally it's here, thank for this group for all your advice and support.

Courage to everyone still waiting.

Hi there, just wondering where does everyone add on their cover letter with brief explanation of intent to apply for the dtv? Does it go in one pdf just before the financial evidence or my softpower documents? Another thing would be, if my muay thai courses will be in bangkok, can I provide travel details for another city, as we had plans to travel around first? Thanks!

This is a TM30 question ( I have browsed previous posts but can't find an answer). I left Thailand in late April but had signed a contract for a new apartment, starting 1 May. I will not return to Thailand until late July. Landlord is asking re the TM30 form. From what I have read here, I need to ( or my landlord) needs to submit the form on my return and not now (as you need an entry stamp to upload). I do have a re-entry permit. Many thanks for any clarification.

Hello, are payslips a mandatory requirement for the DTV Visa?

I am currently unemployed as I'm in the process of launching my own remote business so a regular income statement is not possible.

However, I have more than the equivalent of 500,000 baht in foreign currency in a bank account from my home country (Australia).

If anyone has any prior experience or advice that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Did my first 180 day bounce & return with my DTV! Absolutely effortless. Showed the agent my passport, said, ā€œDTV,ā€ included a printout of my visaļæ¼, and I was stamped for another 180 days with no issues or discussion!

Side note: for anyone looking for a great weekend trip, I chose Singapore and can recommend it warmly. What a wonderful experience! Just the airport alone is worth the trip! I know Singapore has a reputation for being expensive, but the flight was dirt cheap, it’s only two hours, I got a very respectable room for not that much money, and I ate some delicious food at the Hawker’s markets without breaking the bank!ļæ¼ There is also a ton to see for absolutely free, like the gardens by the bay, which cost no money!

I don’t think it’s mentioned enough as a great place for a border bounce, and while certainly not the cheapest option, it wasn’t that bad on my wallet, and it was an experience I’ll never forget. Recommended!

Hello! Couple of quick questions for the DTV as a little unclear to me...

- Do the proof of funds (500,000THB) need to remain available and in your bank account at all times? If so, when do they check this?

- I got my DTV in Nov 2024. Do I need to renew or repay visa fee at any point? I do leave the country every 90 days for holidays or similar.

Thanks in advance!
