Do I need to keep 500,000 THB in my account for the DTV visa and what are the renewal requirements?

Hello! Couple of quick questions for the DTV as a little unclear to me...

- Do the proof of funds (500,000THB) need to remain available and in your bank account at all times? If so, when do they check this?

- I got my DTV in Nov 2024. Do I need to renew or repay visa fee at any point? I do leave the country every 90 days for holidays or similar.

Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The proof of funds requirement of 500,000 THB needs to be available only at the time of applying for the DTV visa and when applying for a 180-day in-country extension at the immigration office. Once you have the DTV visa, it is valid for 5 years, and you won't need to pay any additional visa fees. However, if you stay in Thailand for 90 days, you must submit a free 90-day report at your local immigration office.

Just need the 500K for the application and extension. Re entries it's not needed.

The only time they'd check your bank balance would be IF you decided to apply for a 180 day in country extension at the immigration office where you stay.

Nope, the visa is good for 5 years, you don't pay any more visa fees

Remember though IF you stay inside the country 90 days you do have to file a 90 day report at the immigration office where you stay BUT that is free to do ๐Ÿ™‚

@Tod ********
When I sometimes leave the Country every 2 monthโ€ฆ No need to do anything right ?

Or after 180 days ? Must the 180days in a row ?
Tod *********
@Justin *********
leave before the 90th day no need to do anything

stay 90 days in a row you file a 90 day report

every time you enter you get a 180 day entry stamp, the visa is unlimited entry for the 5 years it's good for

so Only have to go to immigration if I stay 90 days in a row. Or 180 days in a row ?

90 days in row you visit immigration to do a report

Basically you come in Thailand stay 90 days on 90th you report to immigration even if that the day your leaving cos it 90 days.

If staying anything under 90 days you leave and the report time will reset to when you return as will the 180 days time allowed in Thailand.

Just worry about 90 days and reporting to immigration the 89 days and leave then repeat when you return if that helps ๐Ÿซถ
