What was the experience of using Singapore for a visa bounce?

Did my first 180 day bounce & return with my DTV! Absolutely effortless. Showed the agent my passport, said, “DTV,” included a printout of my visa, and I was stamped for another 180 days with no issues or discussion!

Side note: for anyone looking for a great weekend trip, I chose Singapore and can recommend it warmly. What a wonderful experience! Just the airport alone is worth the trip! I know Singapore has a reputation for being expensive, but the flight was dirt cheap, it’s only two hours, I got a very respectable room for not that much money, and I ate some delicious food at the Hawker’s markets without breaking the bank! There is also a ton to see for absolutely free, like the gardens by the bay, which cost no money!

I don’t think it’s mentioned enough as a great place for a border bounce, and while certainly not the cheapest option, it wasn’t that bad on my wallet, and it was an experience I’ll never forget. Recommended!

Thank you. I'm off to Singapore on 13th May for two days before flying to Manchester, UK. The flight was £300 cheaper than Bangkok, so as I have never been to Singapore, I thought it would be a good choice. I see it as a free holiday in Singapore. I'm not sure why UK flights are cheaper from Singapore, but I'm looking for return flights in September and they're still about £300 cheaper than Bangkok.

When I lived Singapore it was the other way around. Cheaper to book through Bangkok than direct. It is down to some airline rules about origin or something. Worked out great for me. Fly up to Bangkok Thursday or Friday and meet pals. My boss loved it as in Business it was a couple of thousand SGD cheaper

Did the same, I am in Seoul South Korea now. Coming back in a few days. Cheers from Gangnam style! 🕺

Next time pick another country. There are lots of beautiful places surrounding Thailand. Try Penang next time.

what’s your problem here? I’ve been to a dozen other countries. I just thought it was nice to mention a place that isn’t usually in the conversation. Just trying to be helpful.

if you have never been, Singapore is a nice experience. Especially is flights are cheap because hotels are expensive over there!

Which hotel did you stay? Might do the same thing

Anonymous participant 948 I stayed at Hotel Clover 7. Great location, not too pricey at all! The room is the size of a shoebox, but for a couple nights, I found it very tolerable (and the bed was very comfortable!).

Great advice actually. For those with airline status there are also some lovely lounges at Changi which might be good for a few glasses of wine on the way back!

honestly, I’m not even joking, an absolutely fantastic day would be to fly into Singapore, chill at the airport for a few hours taking in their tremendous attractions there, and then flying out!
