— HELP: STOLEN PASSPORT: flying to bkk soon … who to contact?! Please read below —
I need some advice regarding my Muay Thai DTV (Soft Power) visa and my visa is digital (I have an online copy and a printed version - nothing was in my actual passport luckily)
I applied and was approved digitally in Hanoi, but my old Canadian passport was stolen recently and I now have a new passport. I need to update my passport number for my visa, and the Muay Thai school is updating the invitation letter for me.
Has anyone been in this situation before? Who should I contact, and what steps do I need to take to make sure my visa is recognized when I fly to Bangkok on November 5 from Madrid?
- I have a photo of my old passport
- a photo of my new passport
- police report
- all emails with the Canadian embassy regarding my stolen passport
- all DTV documents/pics digitally I used when applying in Hanoi and being approved
Are there any agents in Chiang Mai or elsewhere who can help with this process also?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated — I want to avoid any issues at immigration.
I just got my visa approved on Sep 15th through the Soft Power program.
I applied in Ho Chi Minh on September 4, and even though the embassy asked for some extra documents (and my phone broke at the worst timing ever..55), everything finally worked out.
Big thanks to Wildcat Muay Thai in Chiang Mai — I honestly couldn’t have done it without their guidance and support 🙏
And also thanks to this group for sharing so much helpful info along the way.
Can’t wait to be back in Chiang Mai with my visa and start training soon!
My application is rejected twice - once from The Netherlands, once from Vietnam. Why? We don’t know. I’ve done it through an agency called Issa Compass. They have a legal team making the case for you and apply when they think it’s a 100% go.
They don’t give you any reason. Been to the embassy, been calling everywhere. No answers.
Hi. When i apply for my 1 year extension retirement visa in thailand ...I dont need to show immigration that I have international health insurance right? I do have travel insurance...but i dont need to show any international health insurance? Is that correct?
Hello. I'm applying for the DTV via soft power. My soft power activity offers a visa service for ฿5k. Will hiring this service help to ensure my DTV gets approved? Here are the requirements via the Chicago Embassy, which I would be applying out of online.
It just says "a copy of a recent bank statement". It doesn't give any number of months required. I have 2 months of statements showing a good amount over ฿500k.
I'm currently not employed but receive government benefits which are reflected on my bank statements and are substantial enough to support me while I'm in Thailand. My soft power activity told me this wouldn't be a problem.
Just wondering if the service offers a higher likelihood of approval for me or not, or if I should try to apply on my own.
