Hello,

Later this month, I plan to apply for the Thailand remote work visa (Destination Thailand Visa - DTV) in Jakarta, Indonesia. However, I currently hold a 6-month TR visa issued by the Thai Embassy in Tokyo Japan, which expires on July 12. My current stay as a tourist in Thailand will end on June 27 (I've already extended by 30 days). Therefore, it seems I'll need to unnecessarily stay in Indonesia for 16 days, waiting for my TR visa to expire before applying for the DTV.

I know you might say to me to come out and back to Thailand and gain another 60 days to stay in Thailand, but I would like to obtain a DTV as soon as possible.

I've noticed several comments in this group—some mention successfully applying for the DTV before their existing visa expired, while others advise waiting until the current visa has fully expired. Is it indeed safe and possible to apply for the DTV before my TR visa expires?

If anyone has successfully or unsuccessfully applied for the DTV while their TR or Education visas were still valid, please share your experience. Your insights would be greatly appreciated😀

I have a question.

I applied to the Japanese consulate in Fukuoka, but they asked for all pages of my passport and since I had already left Japan, my application was cancelled.

I will reapply in Kuala Lumpur where I am currently staying.

"Have you ever applied for Thai visa? Yes No"

Which answer should I choose for this question?

I chose "No" when I applied to Fukuoka last time.

Since this is a reapplication, will it be "Yes"?

Or, since I have never applied for any visa other than DTV, will it be "No" this time too?

**Additional Note

I would like to explain why I am undecided.

My application to Fukuoka was not "Status: rejected" but "Status: Cancel Visa Application".

Cancel = no application?

I was notified by email that the reason for the cancellation was that I had left Japan.

In other words, this DTV is my first time applying for a visa to Thailand, and the result of that first application was "Cancel" instead of "rejected", so I am undecided.

KBank sent there new T&C through some 30 pages, however, asked a AI chat to find a summary, part of which was interesting.

Banks and financial institutions are required to report to the Revenue Department if a customer’s accounts have 3,000 or more deposit/transfer transactions in a year, or 400 or more transactions totaling 2 million baht or more, to ensure tax compliance.

Large cash transactions (e.g., 2 million baht or more) must be reported to the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO).

My first successful 180 day Visa renewal just completed. All I needed was Passport, copy of DTV and new arrival card (TM6) 👏👍👊FYI I also had copies of TM30, copy of lease, proof of funds in the bank and also proof of income over the last 3 months but was not asked for them. Winning!

I see a lot of disinformation spread by anonymous accounts. I don’t think there’s any reason to be anonymous who agrees?

So what acceptable as far as visa on arrival goes.

I just lost my tkt to Thailand because trying to get there with a visa meant I needed to buy 175 euro worth of risky visa submission and I could lose the money if not given a visa
