I am a World traveller and wouldn’t take a risk, in any case my Passport gets filled up between 2 and 3 years and I have to get a new one, currently I am on Passport # 13.

I would change it because in any case it’s illegal to tamper with this document. Legally this is tampered and the Immigration Officer is under his/her Rights to stop your wife from entering any Country.
