If you have non-o visa, can you open a bank account at any banks in Thailand, including a local branch of international bank? Is there a local branch of international bank such as Citi bank or chase bank in Pattaya? Is local international bank same as Thai bank when you apply retirement visa?

We are going to do an extension 1 year for non o base on marriage visa for my husband ( Australian)

at Samutprakarn office. We went to extended the 60 days visiting Thai wife due to the visa date is not enough for 2 months seasoned of 400k.

The 60 days visiting Thai wife will be expired on Aug 22. And the money is ready now, so 45 days in advance we can apply to extend 1 year in on Jul 09.

My question is.

1. How long for consideration will it count? 3 weeks after apply which is around Jul 30 or maximum 1 month will be Aug 09. Or it will be Aug 22 the day of current visa expire?

2. After apply visa and they accept all docs, do we need to keep 400k in the bank no move? Or show them bookbank or statement again on the day we go back for result? Can it move during waiting but the day we back only need to show 400k balance? If anyone can share experienced Samutprakarn will be appreciated.

If I get a non O visa based on retirement in the UK, and enter Thailand on this basis, does my first extension also have to be based on retirement? What I am thinking is if I get married in Thailand, can I get my first extension based on marriage - or can I only change the reason to marriage on later extensions? Many thanks

I'm currently in Thailand and planning to leave the country in order to apply for the DTV visa. I'm self-employed in Spain and can show a bank account with regular income and a high current balance.

However, I see that the application might require bank statements from the past 3 months, and that's a problem for me, because in May I made a large investment in Spain that temporarily reduced my funds (I wasn’t planning to be applying for the DTV visa at that time).

Is there any country where they only will check the current balance and not the last 3 months? Or do I have no other option but to wait until 3 full months have passed?

I'm flying to Japan in 2 weeks, but I don't think it's the best place to apply.

Would it be better to go to Laos, Vietnam, or Malaysia, etc after Japan, before returning to Thailand (ideally already with my DTV)?

A Person asked me for around 2600$ to change business visa in bangkok , i sent those amount from nepal too . After few months he again demand for 3000$ & told which was necessary for changing visa as his company's manager post. And i refused to go there and asked him to return those amount 2600$, he told me due to my reason he beared losses and paid fine thats the reason i cant get my money return back. Is it true? On the subject of being denied entry based on the amount of time spent here even when following there rules, is there a specific number of days per year that is too many? Is it a calendar year or based on the first entry?

A friend of mine is currently in the process of getting a work permit and visa whilst in Thailand. His tourist visa runs out on the 11th, and the company has just said he only needs a criminal background check to support his visa. He is wondering will he get the visa in time or if anyone has any experience with how quickly a criminal background check comes through.

Any advice would be beneficial.

He previously has had an education visa and has already gotten a tourist visa extension.
