On the subject of being denied entry based on the amount of time spent here even when following there rules, is there a specific number of days per year that is too many? Is it a calendar year or based on the first entry?

TLDR : Answer Summary
There is no official rule regarding the maximum number of days an individual can spend in Thailand per year. Instead, the decision is at the discretion of the immigration officer at the time of entry. Some users have pointed out issues with being denied entry after staying 90 days within a 6-month period or showing a pattern that suggests they are not typical tourists. Others note that it's essential to have the appropriate visa if planning to stay longer.
😂😂😂 there is no limit. None. And nothing to do with ‘profit’

There is no rule governing the amount of time you can spend inside Thailand nor is there a rule governing how many times you can enter. It's entirely up to the immigration officer you will stand in front of, they can see your history and if it looks like you are not a typical tourist they are likely to deny entry
appropriate visa for what? How would they be able to determine whether they need a visa, or not, when they can’t even know how long they can stay in the country on a visa exemption?
90 days was refering to visa exempt entries only. This post was asking about visa exempt entries no one mention METV the DTV is also basically a tourist visa
No. There is no rule or law that says any number of days. It's at the discretion of the immigration officer you are standing in front of. Whatever their personal rule is. Many people have experienced issued if already at 90 days within 6 months and 6 months within a year.
