Planning to apply for an o visa based on marriage from London Thai Embassy have easily adequate funds and income etc my question is My money and income into bank

is held in a joint account ( I can if necessary prove income by P60's etc ) the Thai website doesn't specify or say it must be in sole name

I'm aware that when I open a Thai bank account it Must be in sole name but this is only for the 90 day part of the 'o' visa any experience at the London e visa application and sensible advice would be gratefully appreciated

Does anyone have any experience of applying for a business visa? I will be looking at opening a business in Thailand but yet again Google really is not my friend with the conflicting information!

It says I must apply via a Thai embassy but goes on to say "you may be able to do this once in Thailand" May is not "you can" which is why I am here

Before asking Google I was under the impression that I can apply for a Non-B once inside Thailand but apart from that, I was hoping someone could run me through the process and any pitfalls to look out for.

The business will require premises so I will hire a solicitor to "rubber stamp" the contract so I dont get any unwelcome demands or changes by the landlord and will get them to check my paperwork is ready to submit

Foolishness will be punished by chinese burn and a nipple tweak 😁

I have a question and could use some advice:

I am coming to Thailand for 3 months or so.......within the first 2 months I am going to fly to the Philippines for 2 weeks and then return to Thailand for the rest of my stay.

Q: Do I need to get an extension prior to leaving for the Philippines? or do I need a certain VISA? or will I just reset my 60 days upon arriving back?

Approved in Hanoi for Workcation (4 Business Days)

I applied for the Workcation category on Saturday 5 July 2025. My status changed to ā€œPending Approvalā€ on Monday 7 July, and I was officially approved on Thursday 11 July.

No additional documents were requested during the process.

Before applying, I had been living in Thailand on ED visas for four years.

Here is exactly what I submitted, grouped into three sections.

āø»

1. Work Documents

I am a teacher on italki.

Submitted:

• italki Statement of Activity (The statement includes a clear disclaimer stating that italki is not my employer, that I work independently, and that they do not control my work or clients.)

• Previous 6 months of calendar screenshots (completed lessons)

• Screenshot of upcoming booked lessons

• Screenshot of active packages (pre-paid, ongoing lessons)

• Screenshot of my italki profile and reviews

• TEFL certificate

Cover Letter 1: Portfolio Letter

Explains each document, confirms I do not teach Thai students, and shows I have consistent work and returning students.

āø»

2. Financial Documents

Savings (Revolut):

• 6 months of bank statements showing over 500,000 THB

• A current balance screenshot from the Revolut app

Freelance Income (italki to Payoneer):

• 6 months of italki payout screenshots

• 6 months of Payoneer receipts

Cover Letter 2: Financial Letter

Explains how I receive my income, how withdrawals are made, and clarifies the fee deductions and payout timeline. It also confirms my income and savings are separate and meet visa requirements.

āø»

3. Location Documents

To prove I was outside Thailand at the time of applying:

Submitted:

• Full passport scan (all pages), taken before entering Vietnam

• Photo of Vietnam entry stamp (since it was not visible in the scan)

• Photo of visa cancellation stamp showing cancellation of my ED visa

• Boarding pass from my flight to Vietnam

• Two photos taken of myself on 5 July 2025:

• Holding cancelled Thai visa, Vietnam stamp, and boarding pass

• Holding passport photo page and boarding pass

• Photo of myself with a white background

Cover Letter 3: Location Letter

Explains what each image shows and confirms I am currently in Vietnam.

I used ChatGPT to stitch all of my pdfs together and pdf24 to compress them to 3MB or lower.

Thanks to everyone in this group for the advice and for sharing your experiences, it really helped.

Hi guys, I'm an Irish citizen who is applying for the DTV visa through the London embassy (Thailand don't have an embassy in Ireland). I submitted my application yesterday and got a request today for additional documents: tax returns. However, I haven't been tax resident in my country for over 5 years. What can I do?

Hello all. I submitted my DTV application via the London UK embassy this morning and immediately received this request for a confirmation letter. The thing is, in my original application documents I did already include such a letter covering the points they mentioned - it was the first page of my PDF portfolio showcasing my freelancer status. So I don’t know if I worded it wrong or it’s just that I didn’t include the Royal Thai Embassy London address as specified in their request. For anyone who has been successful with their application and was requested to include such a letter, would you be willing to share the wording you used?

I am a self-employed freelancer since 2018 and all my clients are UK/US/Europe based.

Thanks for any advice you’re able to offer!

JFYI Post

Visited the immigration office at Blue Tree, Phuket today to get the Certificate of Residence for myself and my wife.

We submitted our TM30 and passport with entry stamp — they didn’t ask for our DTV printout.

We were charged 1,000 baht each and told to collect the certificate the next day. It’s all done quickly and smoothly.

We needed the document for vehicle purchase and Thai driving license.

However, I’ve seen posts here mentioning 300–500 baht fees and a one-week wait.

Just wondering — did we overpay, or is this the new standard now?

Hi, I need some help. Country: Netherlands.

I want to apply for DTV Soft Power/ Medical Care. Have been to Bangkok Hospital yearly for 3 years in a row now.

My "problem" is:

Wait for the 500K stay in my bank account for 3 months before applying in a neighbour country of Thailand? And enter Thailand with a tourist visa for now.

Or: try and apply after 1 month of having the 500K in my bank account . Apply from The Netherlands. And take my chances that hopefully it won't be a probleml having the 500K in my account just for a 1 month.

Any Dutchies have experience with this?

Thanks for any help in advance! šŸ™šŸ˜Š
