FYI for anyone considering applying in the US as a foreigner it’s not possible unless you’re a resident of have some kind of US visa.

Thank you to everyone who helped me navigate round the web site to obtain my 90 day Non O visa.

My next silly question is. If I leave Thailand to take my wife on holiday during the new year period. Will this make my Non O visa null and void when I return from holiday, and if so will my visa revert back to a tourist visa. We plan to visit Bali but as yet no bookings have been made apparent from a hotel reservation, but this can be cancelled at any time with no charge. There is a chance I can do the bank account before I leave for Bali, but I’ve only got 5 days to complete the account application before I leave for Bali

Is this doable or do I need to make other arrangements for a holiday within Thailand.

Does anyone happen to know if I obtain a DTV and sponsor my son on it (He’s 20 yrs old) will his Visa be good for 5yrs as well? Or will it only be good until he’s 21? Thanks in advance 😊

I made a BIG BIG MISTAKE . Been here one month on DTV. Was in Dansai Loei Isaan. Slipped on wet path, fell. Excruciating agony Right hip. Cannot move leg. In hospital, waiting for MRI to open up tomorrow, to rule out hip fracture.

Didn’t think anything could happen to me. Briefly checked insurance rates but got confused frustrated, and bored.

If I can dodge a bullet and walk out of here, first thing I’ll do is get insurance. I have insurance in the US. Covers only emergencies. Takes hours to submit claim, months later, they might pay.

The day before I was just thinking, everything in Isaan wants to kill you. Ran into Giant spider, snake while hiking. Food wants to kill you, roads want to kill you. Didn’t think a little rain woiuld get me.

Small suggestion, get insurance.

Well we were dreading flying back into CNX on our DTVs this time, having read a few horror stories. But we picked the smiley young woman and she probably was nice to us because we're over 60😃. It was a relief, particularly as we'd just returned from stressful family stuff. I guess if you stay positive and you're legit it will be ok.

Has anyone here managed to buy a car on credit with a DTV visa? I’ve heard of people who’ve done it, but only through second-hand stories. Maybe someone here has actually gone through it themselves? I have a couple of questions — what challenges did you face, how did you solve them? Was a Thai guarantor needed? And so on.

Just read this and thought useful for some who deal with Bangkok Bank

Bangkok bank told us that since 1 July, they require you to have the money in your account for 4 months (!!), before they can issue a letter that confirms proof of funds for various visas. And if you do not meet this 4 month requirement, they will lock the funds in your account for an additional 4 months, before you can access it; while giving you the right papers that you need for immigration (proof of funds for 2 months). Its not an immigration or visa requirement, but rather a banking requirement to deter money laundering and people using agents (that is what they told us)

My boyfriend has just received his U.S. passport and will be flying to Bangkok, Thailand in September 2025,but he was convicted of felony which he served time for and is now off parole. My question is will he be allowed entry in to Thailand and are there any further documents he would need to make his entry here in Thailand go smoothly?

Once he has arrived Thailand we are hoping to get married and make his stay here long term.

I am a Thai citizen my boyfriend is ( US citizen)
