I read a lot of posts about people looking for to open to a bank account with the DTV visa and here's my experience.

YOU CANNOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH THE DTV VISA except for particular cases (you are married to a thai, you have a thai son/daughter, etc). I know it sucks but I've been using for a few months TrueMoney and I can guarantee is a great 2nd choice. I've obtained the full access to the app (it required me to send a picture of my dtv visa + a picture of the entry stamp on my passport) and this is what I can do with the app:

1) I can scan pay EVERYWHERE, including the small auntie at the local market

2) I can link the payment to most of the app (grab, bolt, lazada, shoppee etc)

3) I can create a virtual debit card to buy stuff online

4) I can link that card to google/samsung pay and pay with the NFC.

5) I can top up at the true store up to 50k baht, I believe that out of every tesco lotus there's an automatic machine to do that

6) I can obviously pay at everystore which is true money friendly (7/11)

With that said, having a bank account is great but with true money I can do 99% of the things I would have done with a bank.

PS: I got cash with me so I just exchange the cash at the local superrich and then transfer it on my account. On the app there's the possibility to link it to a credit/debit card, not sure if that works just with local ones or it'll accept a foreign card as well

APPROVED - Los Angeles, 5 hours. I didn’t believe it could happen, but it happened last week. I read dozens reports of 30+ days, and saw one or two of <48 hours. My goal was to try to get this right on the first run.

This group helped me a lot so I wanted to add more info. Context - im an entrepreneur with business partners so it was a little bit more complex, but spent a good 5 hours getting everything properly in order. Here’s what I provided for the Workation DTV:

* Passport biodata

* Drivers license

* 3 months of bank statements with 6 figures of funds, with name and address matching license

* Cover letter on company letterhead explaining who I am, my company, explaining that I can work remotely, and confirming that I will not to any work in Thailand for outside companies or within the Thai labor market

* company registration documents (articles of organization)

* documents proving my ownership in this business

* one page visual portfolio of my company

* my LinkedIn profile one pager image

Hi

Bringing 79 yo mum.

Hi we all have Dtv ‘s and land in Chiang Mai next week.

In November I’m returning to Australia to pick up mum to live with us.

Any recommendations on Soft Power Course for 79yo. Mum uses electric wheelchair most of the time so Muay Thai might be out…😊

I’m curious whether any of you in the US have had difficulty getting your doctor to sign the Thai Consulate’s Medical Certificate form for the Non Immigrant OA Visa application.

Question about helping my friend get a tourist visa to the UK from Thailand....... She has a good job in government, finances her daughter at university and has a property so would obviously be looking to return too her home in Thailand. UK immigration is tough, and as I would look after her in the UK, has anyone experience of exactly what documents one needs to support the 2 week visa?

I read I would need to write an invitation, maybe demonstrate (how?) I have enough money to support her living with me, but how much, and does the UK immigration need other proof, besides her return flight?

This would not be until next summer, but I would like to do my research now.

Hello,

Im going to stay in Thailand for 5 months.

The non-immigrant visa "O" will be issued for a one-time entry and a stay of up to 90 days. An extension of residence can be applied for at the immigration office on site in Thailand, provided.

What notes/ papers (requisites) do I have to submit to the immigration office to renew my visa?

What is this procedure called? Renew your visa or convert your visa?

Like to say thanks in advance.

-------------

Hallo,
