Hey Guys,

I applied for a DTV a few days ago and was asked for further documents.

Details:

I am a freelancer who has partnered with a marketing agency and have a contract to work all of their clients. I have consistent work and a relatively high income.

Documents i already submitted:

- my partnership agreement between me and the company outlining the commitment.

- 3 months of invoices

- 3 months of bank statement showing proof of the invoices being paid.

I was wondering if anyone has experienced this and what document I should be sending next?

Do I have my partner write am employment certificate?

Thanks in advance, any help would be much appreciated! ☺️

Dunno if anyone saw this on Instagram (I didn't, someone sent it to me :P )

This should be a lesson for ALL people who apply for a DTV :O

This person applied for their DTV either while they were inside thailand or they came here after they applied but before it was approved. Then they got the DTV approved

BUT

they didn't realize in order to activate it you have to exit (to get OFF the current stamp you're on) and then re-enter presenting the DTV when you stamp in (to get ON the new DTV).

They just thought they were good to go, and ended up overstaying their free stamp entry by more than 90 days <- which means when you leave the country you're automatically banned for a year :O

Lucky for them, they weren't caught out inside the country while on that overstay because an overstay like that gets an automatic FIVE YEAR ban if you're caught inside.

So moral of the story people;

If you apply for a DTV either while you're already in thailand <- (which is totally against the eVisa / DTV rules) or if you apply then come to thailand before it's approved (which is frowned upon but allowed) once you do get the visa approved make sure you bounce out/back to activate the DTV :)

Hard lesson for this kid to learn, but good news is, he's got a 5 year DTV and can still get 4 years of stay out of it once he stays out of the country for the year he's banned :O

After you finished your original reason for the DTV (i.e. finished all your Muay Thai or cooking classes),

do you still have the right to enter via the DTV visa?

I have heard of people asking to prove that they're still enrolled for classes.

Hello, I got a few questions, and hope kind soul can assist:

1. The DTV dont allows people to have a Thai Bank account. So how do you guys pay rent year by year (assume you plan to stay 5 year). I couldn't possible hold Cash and use Cash all the time right? I don't plan to search for banks to open one and end up getting the funds locked and account closed eventually

2. What type of international banking platforms do you guys use for banking with minimal costs and fees?

3. For property rentals, in my Home Country there are property agents from proper property companies to assist in signing tenant contract agreement, but I am not sure in Thailand. There are home owners trying to market their own property, or even middle man who are not licensed property agent, can we trust them?

I applied for the DTV in the Netherlands. I got rejected because they were missing a document from the Muay Thai gym. But no one knows which document that is and the embassy can't clarify it more than:

a certificate issued to the school/gym from office of boxing sport board, sport authority of Thailand

Does anyone know what document they are talking about, what it looks like, or any information that can clear this up? All the official documents have been submitted but this one seems to be a mystery but they need it anyway.

Any clarification will be much appreciated.

Hi. My wife and I have deposited 800,000 each into our bank accounts and in 2 months we will apply for our 12 month retirement visa extension. My question is, can we start to deposit more money into our bank account for the next 2 months to use as living expenses as long as we keep the balance at least 800,000 or should we not do anything in the bank account until we have our 12 month extension? Thanks.
