O to OA and more, oh my. I am currently awaiting the final sale of my home, to my son. Is it still standard to be able to secure a bank account, get an O visa, and apply for the OA? I will be attempting this in Chiang Mai at the end of next month 🙏

I saw a post earlier that you can't apply for the DTV while already in Thailand, but must apply outside the country. Is this true?

Instead of DTV I got a Multiple entry tourist visa from Hanoi. I provided 4 months of banks statements with 1mil THB, income of 700K+ in 2025, 6month muy thai course from a reputable gym. I saw a guy (girl?) approved today in Hanoi with a weaker application than mine (1 month course, 3 month bank statements, no income). Make it make sense.

I applied for the DTV in Jakarta (Indonesia) on September 1st. Today (September 11th), I finally got a reply, but they are asking me to provide proof that I am currently in Indonesia.

Does anyone know what type of document works best to make sure it gets accepted? (visa, photo, something else?)

Also, my current visa expires the day after tomorrow and I will be going to Kuala Lumpur after that. Could this be an issue for my application?

Has anyone here applied for the DTV visa through the Thai Consulate in Sydney and had success when the 500,000 THB wasn’t sitting in their account for the full 3 months?

I do have a 3-month bank statement with the required funds, but the money hasn’t been there for 3 months straight. When I was enquiring to the people who were sorting out my Soft Power course, they mentioned it was recommended to hold it for 3 months but not a strict requirement.

Just wondering if anyone has been approved in the same situation. Appreciate any advice from people who’ve gone through it in Sydney!

Maan, last week I applied for the digital nomad DTV with the London embassy, thinking the whole thing was surprising straightforward (clearly very naive).

They’ve just emailed me saying I now need:

1. Better quality passport scan – I already gave them the same scan I successfully used for another country visa.

2. Proof of current location – I already gave a bank statement with my address, but now they want a utility bill in my name, and I live with my parents in the UK so none are in my name.

3. Stamped bank statements – for closing balance and last three months. I’ve already given statements but not stamped; not sure my bank even does that.

4. Professional portfolio or company description – I already submitted a statement with screenshots of earnings showing consistent freelance activity.

5. Self-assessment tax return / statement of accounts / other HMRC docs – I haven’t been freelancing long enough to submit a tax return; maybe I could just give bank statements again?

6. Letter confirming employment/contract details – I work freelance across multiple platforms. Even though I meet the monthly requirements, none of my “clients” are going to provide a signed letter addressed to the embassy.

Am I just screwed here and out the visa fee?

If you come in with Passport, 60 days, how long must you leave before entering on another 60 days?
