I’m retired I’ve done AI search and it says there’s a little known about “purpose of visit” drop down section other than soft power and workcation, “financially independent” it says many retirees have made successful applications via this route. Is anyone else aware of this or successfully applied using this method please ? TIA

I've noticed that more and more people are getting rejected for soft powers in vietnam while my facebook page is getting flooded of sponsored pages that for 40-90k they offer a dtv all inclusive. All they claimed you need to do is to go to vietnam and take a pics of your entry stamp. I'm not talking about a single page, but dozens of sponsored pages offering the same. Are those scams?

Hello, I am planning to come to Thailand around November 10 as a retiree and settle in Hua Hin region. What is the deadline to get the 90 days visa if you apply online? Otherwise is it possible to take a tourist visa 60 days and once on the spot apply for long Stay retirement visa on the spot at the immigration office? Thanks for your good advice.

Hi Peeps, my wife and I (abv 50y/o) just got issued our 90-days Non-O Immigrant Visa from outside of thailand. Once i arrive in BKK and get my visa stamped on my passport, i understand that I can open a bank account which I will do from Bang Saray/Sattahip, since I own a condo there (will bring all my property papers). Will the bank ask for a Thai mobile rgst'd in my name ? What are ALL the docs they need ?

Beside this, does anyone know how to go about obtaining a Retirement Visa while we are in Thailand(without going thru an agent) ? What are the documents and stuff needed to apply for Retirement Visa btw. How much must I deposit into Kasikorn bank ? How many days would the Retirement Visa approval take and must I be staying in Thailand until they issue it ? Also how to obtain a Thai Driver's lic ? I already have my country's one and a valid International Driving Permit. tyvvvm

Hello, it’s my first time applying for DTV, I was wondering if it’s necessary to submit and house tenancy agreement as part of my application for the Visa? I was planning to either stay at a hotel and look for a more permanent place once my visa is approved. Is it a common thing to do and could I get some advice on it? Thank you very much

Can anyone confirm if I have this right..

I returned to uk in August this year after 7 weeks in Thailand.

I'm returning in January for 4 months.

I'm a tourist and finishing off dental work there that I started earlier this year.

Do I get 90 day visa then go to the local immigration office and extend one month ?

If not, What's the best,/correct way to do this.

Thank-you in advance.

Hello community,

thank you so much for replying to my last post.

I got a much better feeling about going for the DTV after your replies.

But now I contacted an agent and received below reply…

What is the current political situation in Thailand? Does it make sense to apply for DTV?

“Hello Kat,

At this time, we no longer offer services for the 5 Year - Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) due to recent political changes and concerns about the program's longevity. Additionally, banks have stopped allowing banking services for DTV holders.

Instead, we recommend our long-term ED visa services, which do not require you to leave the country every six months and allow you to open a bank account. This is a great option for those under 50 years old.”
