Just paid 2000 baht for overstay.

I followed everything they told me to do after getting my first 3 months visa. Report back in 2 months.

To which I did, and they told me “you don’t need to come, come back next month”. And I did. But when I went back, they told me I needed an authorisation letter to get an extension, which would lead to me overstaying. But literally nobody informed me anything. I asked for any options to avoid overstay but officer seemed reluctant to help.

Then I asked if I could fly out and come back instead of overstaying but their question was “it’s just 2000 baht for overstaying. Can’t you pay?”

It wasn’t about paying for me but the “overstay” fine in my portfolio

To me it just sounds like they want my money….

I know I’m going to get remarks from all the old hags in this group who think they know it all, but I’m just gna say this first. I clearly don’t know everything.

TM30 problems!! Tomorrow I will go apply for the 1-year spouse visa. I'm currently on a 90-day non-O.

While gathering everything I need, I contacted my condo agent and asked him for the TM30. He sent it a few hours later and upon inspection I noticed the "move in" date was today, 23/10/24. Apparently they NEVER did a TM30 for me despite us having a conversation about it upon move-in and my wife and I were assured it would be done, no problem. But when I asked him for it today, he just made one up on the spot with the incorrect move in date.

So now, I am forced to go to immigration tomorrow with a rental contract that says I moved in August 10th and a TM30 that says I moved in October 23rd.

How screwed am I?

Does anyone know if I can have both a DTV visa and also visa for other countries, for example Bali 211A 60 days visa (extended to 180 days).. basically trying to work out if I can do 6 months in Thailand one winter.. the 6months back home in uk.. then the next winter, 6 months in Bali. Thanks 😉

Can you receive another DTV visa after 5 years or this is valid once per lifetime?

I have a quick question. I have my DTV visa appointment In Vientiane next week.

I have everything in order, but just noticed my passport photos are 3.3 x 4.5 cm wide instead of 3.5 x 4.5 cm.

Does anyone know if they’re super fussy on this? I can’t find any information on this but don’t want to give any small reason for it to be rejected.

Gday all.....applied and recieved 3 month eVisa from Canberra before l left for Bangkok on Oct 22.....absolutely useless as Airport immigration officer saw no merit in it ..and stamped for a 2 month Tourist Visa only.....am getting married on November 10...so in order to meet the Marriage Visa requirements of having 400k baht in a Bangkok Bank for 3 months...l went to open a Bangkok Bank Account today......NO CAN DO...will not grant a Bank account on a Tourist Visa only...so where do l stand here....and any optiobs please....lve been on this forum and have been very impresses with the wealth of knowledge....l am 59...and have retired after 31 years at Qld Health ..,thx all in advance

I got my DTV today from the Chicago consulate. Applied for remote work and gave letter from company, license as proof of location and my most recent bank statement. It took 8 days. I called them since there had been no update and I was told it can take up to three weeks. I asked if there was any way they could process mine faster and they said they would try. An hour later they emailed asking for my resume, I uploaded it and less than two hours later my visa was issued!
