I got my DTV today from the Chicago consulate. Applied for remote work and gave letter from company, license as proof of location and my most recent bank statement. It took 8 days. I called them since there had been no update and I was told it can take up to three weeks. I asked if there was any way they could process mine faster and they said they would try. An hour later they emailed asking for my resume, I uploaded it and less than two hours later my visa was issued!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their positive experience obtaining a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) from the Chicago consulate. The application process took only 8 days after providing necessary documents, including a letter from their employer, a proof of location license, and a recent bank statement. Users in the comments also noted quick processing times and discussed the required bank statement amounts, with some giving advice on checking official embassy resources for accurate information.
Can you tell me the total amount in your bank that was submitted. While the site says $16k, one of the personnel on the phone told me $15k. I'm not sure which is correct.
that’s great but I wanted it faster. I also have over a decade experience dealing with the Chicago consulate and they never seem to get anything done until you call them.
Thanks for this information. I’ll be applying this week, can you tell me if you submitted the bank statement showing balance or an entire more or beyond a month?
I got mine done at the Chicago consulate also. I was getting worried myself because I will travel soon but without calling it ended up being only 9 days for me. It stayed in pending document check the whole time with no update straight to approved.
