Does anybody have any experience with the Thai embassy in Frankfurt, Germany ?

How long does the usual process take for a soft power muy Thai DTV ? What documents were def. Needed here more then elsewhere.

I’m unsure when to book my flight, because i need one to apply for the visa but don’t want to be in the situation, not having the visa approved before the flight is leaving..

thanks ✌🏼

Got approved yesterday (Friday,11.10) evening 🎉

Here is my journey for the workation Dtv - I hope for someone else this post might be helpful or encouraging.

22.09 Applied from Da Nang for HCM.

Documents all as per the requirements + cover letter

23.09 Received a cancellation email which eventually was revoked just a few minutes after.

24.09 Status switched to Pending Approval

29.09 Email received that the Visa was cancelled (I assume something went wrong on my part)

29.09 Reapplied (triple checking everything)

30.09 Request for more information (Tax information, recent projects, motivation letter, and two other documents) - submitted everything the same day.

07.09 Request for even more information (how I negotiated my current salary, case study + photos of a recent project, passport photos of all pages + proof of the date.

10.09 - 18.00 Approval email (it seems the closing times of the embassies are irrelevant / not limiting)

10.09 - 18.05 Plenty of beer

Outtake:

1. Be prepared to wait

2. Be prepared for multiple rounds of requests

3. Don’t give up

4. Da Nang is a beautiful (and very affordable place) to spend a couple of weeks if necessary.

May the visa gods be with you!

Hi all. In the US with a couple questions…

Any feedback from just using the Thai e-visa website for applying for the DTV? I do not plan on going to Washington or LA to visit at Embassy.

If I skipped the DTV for now and just use the 60 day exemption with the intent of extending it the 30 days allowed, do people go ahead and book their plane tickets for the 90 days? Does that cause any problems anywhere? (Airline letting you on, Thai immigration, etc) Do people just buy 60 day tickets and then deal with changing the return flight once approved for the 30 day extension?

Thanks!

Throwing my Tuppence worth into the "Great Thailand Bank Robbery", I run a few bank accounts here in Thailand. I use Bangkok Bank for my 65k monthly transfers, and withdraw a lump sum each month which I pay into my SCB account for QR code scans, the logic being when I produce the 12-month Bangkok Bank statement to immigration there's only 2-3 transactions each month so the statement is only 2-3 pages in length. This makes life easier for the IO, and subsequently makes life easier for me!

I want to pay 10,000 baht into my SCB account yesterday through a deposit ATM, and the machine wouldn't let me do this. Message said my card was not acceptable for deposits (it has been for the last 6-7 years), and that I had to report to my branch. The branch was right there at the machine so I went inside and was presented with a card, a picture of which is shown here. Apparently my passport was required to make a deposit under these new KYC regulations.

I nipped home, got my passport and returned to the branch. I watched the bank officer very carefully and observed she photocopied the data page, then went hunting for the visa. She found the right extension stamp and the most recent entry stamp and photocopied these. She then sat at her computer, rattled the keys a bit, took the 10,000, passed me a deposit slip to sign (in two places), passed everything back to me and said everything is ok now.

I tried the ATM afterwards and everything was fine.

I asked my girlfriend to call the SCB call centre, who informed her that they cannot assist with individual situations, the bank is undertaking their responsibilities under KYC and are confirming the identity and visa status of all customers, including (in the case of identity) Thai nationals.

Transferring visa to new passport.

Im on a 12month ext of stay based on my retirement visa. Is it just the current 12 month extension of stay visa that needs to be transferred, or the Non Immigrant O and all the previous ext of stays?

Many thanks
