What should I do if I can't travel to the Thai embassy in Ankara for my visa application, and how should I handle the visa process for my partner and child as an unmarried applicant?

Hi i plan to apply and have 3 questions:

1. I am Israeli and currently residing in Tbilisi, i read that the responsible thai embassy is the one in Ankara. Considering the political climate it will not be safe to travel there if they request an in person meeting, what should i do in that case?

2. I plan to get the visa together with my family for both my spouse and baby, but we aren't married. What document should we provide to prove our relationship? Will a birth certificate be sufficient to also show my relationship with my spouse?

3. When they ask for a bank statement, are they expecting the balance to be over 500k for the entire duration of the statement or just the balance at the time of issuing the statement?

Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, an Israeli citizen residing in Tbilisi, has three key questions regarding the visa application process for Thailand. First, they express concern about the safety of traveling to the Thai embassy in Ankara, suggesting they may need to consider applying through another embassy. Second, they seek clarification on the required documentation to prove their relationship with their partner, noting they are not married, and ask if a birth certificate would suffice. Lastly, they inquire about bank statement requirements, specifically whether the balance must consistently exceed 500,000 baht or just at the statement's issue time. Responses indicate that both partners need separate visa applications and financial proof, plus detailed bank statement terms may vary by embassy.

What has this to do with DTV, you post this in the wrong group.

This group is not for political statements.

those who are a part of genocide and ethnic cleansing should know that their actions will not be ignored because of arbitrary Facebook group norms and standards.

as stated in my post i live in Tbilisi Georgia, even if there was a Genocide (which there clearly isn't) i couldn't be a part of one. your inclination to treat me as guilty by association is just antisemitism. I bet you don't type free Tibet or Free Armenia any time you see a post by a Chinese or Azerbaijanian, just a classic double standard and racism.

This is really unrelated to this group but i felt obligated to respond.

Anonymous participant unfortunately you may be correct. But based on the data that shows most Israelis are in favor of ethnic cleansing and don't value Palestinian life the same as Israeli, it's guilty by association. Oh, and there's also the mandatory military service of all Israelis. This has nothing to do with Judaism, only about the lack of respect and basic human rights for occupied Palestinians.

When you try to associate all Israeli with their army and government, you should also associate all Palestinians with HAMAS, which is the only one in this conflict where genocide is proven, they admit it even in their charter as their sole purpose, and what happened at October 7 in 2023 was a very clear example of genocide, and when they had not commited that crime, this war in Gaza would not have been there too.

And surely the acts of IDF are not OK, but you have to look what happens now they are gone in part of Gaza, HAMAS is now killing in a very inhumane way Palestinians that don't agree with them.

But this discussion does not belong here, certainly not when you are blindly choose for one of the sides without looking to facts.

I didn't read your reply. But I condemn all killing of innocent people.

You keep ignoring my point but there is a very simple test for your true intentions, and all human rights activists for that matter. Do you treat different events with equal judgement and attention respecting their scale and importance or do you give unexplained attention to curtain events while ignoring others entirely... No need for any other test to measure your true motivations which are definitely not innocent and definitely not about human rights.

Anonymous participant if you'd like to discuss, send me DM. I'm not ignoring anything, I want PEACE and EQUAL RIGHTS. It is hard to achieve peace when a state is occupied for 50-60 years. Free, free Palestine.

you are not worthy of my time, Free Tibet! Free Iran!

Condemn killing of innocent people is OK, but your initial remark is not asking for peace, but just choose a side in this conflict.

And again, still nothing to do with DTV, nor with Thailand, so I suggest best is to remove this discussion.

If you don't post Free Tibet, Free Armenia, Free Uyghurs, Free Iran, Stop the Taliban Stop Russia and countless other human rights topics guess what? You don't care about the Palestinians you are just a virtue signaling jew hater, no jews? Not interested... like most pro Palestinians out there.

Just asked about Visa and have to defend myself for being who i am. Disgusting.

Anonymous participant what's disgusting is the small or mass killing of an ethnic population.

Again political statements should not be here.

Your opinion about who is wrong and who is right just does not belong here.

We indeed see a terrorist organization HAMAS that has genocide in their charter, and an army IDF that migth be guilty of war crimes fighting these terrorists.

Both parties cause a lot of innocent victims.

But this discussion just does not belong here, period!

my statement is not about politics. It's about human rights. If you don't like it, ignore or report me.

This group is about DTV, and not about human rights. in addition, you do not seem to propose an objective solution to the problem, but you try to make a very colored, one-sided and provocative comment.
Daniel **********
@Luit ****************
I think it is very clear what the solution is: Free Palestine. This is 100% about basic human rights and please ignore if you don't have anything constructive to add.

Both you and your friend (not spouse as you're not married) must apply independently and both of you must meet the criteria for the DTV. So for example if using soft power you would each need to sign up for more than 6 months activity, you would each need over 500k baht in your own bank account etc. Once one of the parents has a DTV the child then applies quoting the DTV of the parent, whether you can just write a sponsorship letter for them will be up to the consulate but should be acceptable, especially if they are very young. While not impossible, I'd be very surprised if you were asked to travel to Turkey. If it's a major worry for you then I'd suggest you travel elsewhere before you apply.

Shalom fellow Israeli!

-if the situation doesn't allow you to travel to immigration office it might be best to apply through a different embassy.

- for the 500k baht you will need one for each so 1,000,000 in total for both of you, since you aren't married your partner will need to have the money in her own account and apply for her own dtv. I am unsure about the child's funds since some embassys might require different requirements

The balance in your account also depend on the embassy, some will only accept funds that have been in the account for at least 3-6 months, some allow for shorter

Anonieme deelnemer 747 Also don't forget, apart from the own financial requirement for the partner, the partner also needs to comply to other requirements because it cannot be a dependant visa.

Spouse means husband or wife, if you are not married then she/he is your partner. Your partner will need to apply for a DTV themselves, and you or they apply for DTV for your child as a dependent. If it is not safe for you to go to the interview you would not be issued a DTV, possibly a 6-month tourist visa. You should also consider applying elsewhere due to your safety concerns attending an in-person interview
