Can I leave Thailand now to apply for a DTV if I hold an Ed Visa until November?

Dear DTV experts - I entered Thailand in August on three months Ed visa which is valid till end of November. I am not intending to extend it but rather apply for a DTV.

So, do I need to wait until my current Ed visa’s validity or I can exit anytime now and apply for DTV. Your help is much appreciated πŸ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about leaving Thailand while on an Ed visa that is valid until the end of November and transitioning to a DTV visa. Responses indicate that the user can leave at any time without canceling the Ed visa, as it will automatically end upon departure. However, one commenter suggests completing the Ed visa first to avoid complications. Another mentions the possibility of needing a re-entry permit to maintain the Ed visa status if returning.

When you leave the country with an ed visa, you have to apply for re-entry permit to keep it otherwise you cancel it on exit.

So if you want to do DTV, complete your education visa then travel to a neighbouring country to apply for DTV

Just leave like normal without applying for any permits and then when you get to the next country you apply for the DTV in that country

If you are in the first 90 days of the Ed Visa, you can leave Thailand. It does not need to be cancelled. It will end on the day you leave Thailand.

Personally i Would extend it for the 12 months visa and get a licence and bank account..

If you dont already have one..
