I am trying to change my tourist visa to a non-o retirement visa.. I live in Nonthaburi but was going to try Bangkok, has anyone done this? I will be a walk-in appointment since there are no appointmentโ€™s available online.

How long was the wait to see immigration officer in Bangkok?

Hello everyone, yesterday I got a notification from Bangkok Bank so that I have to visit the Branch within 30 days where I opened my account. My account is locked and I can't do any payments or transfers .

The problem is I am not in that city anymore. I went to a Bangkok Bank branch where I am staying now and they said there is no way and I should go there.

I don't want to comment on the stupidity of this rule but I want to ask you all if you had this issue and what did you do? Is there a way to avoid going to the city where my branch is?

Thank you in advance for your advices. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ˜Š

*update* My bank has opened the account for me and I can freely transfer the funds in and out online. I will transfer the funds once Ive entered Thailand in a few days. Thank you for everyone's input.

Hello fellow DTV holders,

I am a Canadian currently in Canada visiting back home. My bank has informed me that I can place my funds in a high interest savings account where I can get a 4 or 5% interest rate. This account will be accessible online and I can transfer funds immediately to my regular checking and saving accounts in the event I need the funds right away. However I do not have access to this account with my debit card.

Question, if I transfer my funds to the high interest savings account will Thai immigration accept this like my regular account in the event I am asked to show proof of funds?

For obvious reasons getting a 4-5% rate on my 500,000 baht equivalent would be preferable but what I want is not what Thai immigration wants and fairly so.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

TIA ๐Ÿ™

So yesterday I lost the end of my 3rd finger down to the first knuckle on my left hand.sniped off when someone closed my truck hood on it If I remember right they make you do a hand scan at customs when you arrive. I can't remember is it both hands or 1 and which one? Because now it's sure not going to match previous scans I've had. There is no finger print left at all . And I'm sure is will still be bandaged when i return in 2 weeks. Has anyone had any thing like this happen or know of someone? I'm hoping it won't be a big issue

Hello! Wondering if there is any way to change the effective dates of a non-o retirement visa... mine currently will expire on 29 Dec - I plan to renew it towards the end of November, within the 45 day window, however, I see this being a problem every year as I typically travel back to the states for the winter holidays. If I renew it in November, will it then expire the following November, or will it still be December? Ideally, I would like to be able to renew it in October beginning in 2026. Thank you in advance for any advice!

UPDATE: Girlfriend went to the branch today, it was carnage as it was a branch specific notification she was number 75 in the queue and they were on number 20. At the same time i got through to the Bangkok bank call centre who gave me the direct line for the branch.

Upshot is they had 3 staff dealing with all of the enquiries. My girl was told that after the 30 days the account is closed no exceptions. When I get back I have to present bank book and I'd and they will return my funds and open a new account if I have a long term visa.

As I will have a non o I will go to another bank as I now have money sitting in no man's land for months

Good morning. I know the subject of Bangkok bank has been done to death but bear with me. I opened an account in January visa exempt using an agent. I use the account to transfer money to my girlfriend but it was mainly in preparation for my non o based on over 50. I am currently selling up in Australia and will get my non o here once I have a buyer for my house. Yesterday I got the dreaded 30 days to present at the branch notification. I won't be able to do this within the time but when I do I will have a non o stamp, Thai drivers licence etc.

My question is will they close the account after the 30 days with no contact? And if so can I retrieve the balance once I get to Thailand?

Or will the account simply be suspended pending my documents which it already is effectively as I can't move money in the app.

I have called the help desk but I imagine they are getting smashed due to the number of people who got the notification yesterday. So I hope someone has had experience of this previously. Thank you in advance.

Hi everyone,

I'm in the process of applying for a non o visa here in the UK but I'm having issues uploading the 3 months bank statements ๐Ÿ˜ข. Can I put them in a zip file and upload that?

Sorry I'm not very computer savvy and I'm struggling with the pdf merge tool I've tried using (pdf guru). They have sent me a merged pdf file but when I try to view it, I'm just seeing blank pages ๐Ÿคท.

I stupidly, initially sent them in a screenshot.... Bad move, they requested more info, so I'm going into panic mode now.

I really hope you guys can help me with this ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

Thank you in advance for any info and advice โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญโค๏ธ

Hi All , so Iโ€™m going to Thailand in late October, I recently applied here from the uk to the E Thai visa website for a 90 visa which I have received but my concerns are its valid from August and runs out 2nd of November?

Is that going to be ok for me

Are theses visas the type that as long as you go within in the validity of the visa I will get 90 days from day I land in Thailand

Or is that the Thai e visa embassy have put the wrong dates on , I recall when applying I put I was traveling in October

Any help please will be much appreciated

Thanks
