As a retired Immigration counsel, especially the fact that the Entry you are seeking is at the start of the calendar year, I can fairly say, without any prejudice the messenger/poster, this post focused on a negative outcome is unwarranted as the Immigration Officers have been instructed to look for those that ABUSE the Visa Free Entries with Extensions to stay longer than the allowed 2 entries 60 days + 2 extensions ( = Longer than 180 days IN the Country), and thankfully, the travel history shared falls way outside those parameters, so with all your other requirements such as 20k Bahts in hand, Air BnB booking as well as Return Flight covered, and the fact 83 days falls way short of the allowable length of stay, there is absolutely no reason to worry about a refusal. ✌

RadiantPelican9733 Good to note, the Immigration Officers have been instructed to look for those that ABUSE the Visa Free Entries with Extensions to stay longer than the allowed 2 entries 60 days + 2 extensions 😊 Longer than 180 days) In the country, and thankfully, the travel history shared falls way outside those parameters, so you should be totally safe to enter the country without any hassles. Keeping in mind that most interactions with Officers last less than 2 or 3 minutes at best, being organised with your documents is Key, but if you feel the need to make 100% sure there is no hiccups, perhaps dress business casual at the very least and make sure be polite with any interactions with the officers that way you will have covered every base and should be totally clear to go enjoy you stay. I know you mentioned it, but just to reiterate, one thing they like to question is Proof of return, which a return flight definitely satisfies that requirement. Don't forget your 20,000 Baht Cash IN HAND (Showing the money in a bank account on a phone can be cause for a refusal) and have the Air BnB booking handy in case they ask and you are as good as gold. Safe travels and try to be good 👍

I think Brandon will agree, since the Imm Office is NOT open on the day your Stamp expires, you should NOT get an overstay in your passport and should Not have to pay the Overstay fee (Normally 500 Baht)

I would dare say that is exactly what the point should be... For those who remember, back in July 2024, Gvt announced the dire need to boost Tourism back to pre-COVID numbers with a new open border policy as well as extending Visa Free entries to 60 days, then, just a little over a year later, not only flip-flops on its plan to help grow Thailand's appeal to the world and does a total 360 on its very own boosting tourism policy, but also fails to set a certain timetable for those rules to come into effect allowing those in country time to adjust and acquire a proper Visa, which can take anywhere from 10 to 14 days during normal times to as much as 6 to 8 weeks depending on what Visa is applied for. As a few vloggers dared to show, this gross negligence has left many to be treated as criminals in what could easily be considered very deplorable conditions... In some of the discussions I witnessed, many were promising to never come back, while other travelers looking for rest and relaxation, simply chose to avoid the chaos and omit Thailand altogether.

G'day Micheal, Truly sorry you had to go through this unnecessary and obviously distorted situation. You are totally correct in the Government's frivolous attempt to stop scammers, while the very next gate is accepting anyone who bites the bullet to go against everything they believe, joining the next lane where agents are greasing the wheel to make everything look clean, and the collaborating immigration officers smile a bit brighter. As a retired Immigration counsel, I had the great privilege of being part of numerous open discussions with numerous well-respected colleagues and everyone was in unanimous agreement that an antiquated overall of Immigration Policy that is in direct contrast to the rules improvements aiming to boost tourism numbers adopted back in July 2024, will negatively impact tourism numbers for years to come. If Gvt would take a moment to put their pride aside and look around to other countries to see how others are handling this very similar issue, Thailand might stand a chance to make it back to pre-COVID numbers. ✌
