TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about entering Thailand due to a history of multiple visa runs and the fear of being questioned at immigration. Comments suggest that while the user might face some questioning, their travel history from previous years shouldn't lead to denial of entry. It's recommended to have proper documentation ready, including proof of return, accommodation bookings, and sufficient cash on hand, to facilitate a smooth entry process.

I think they realize there are long stay tourist who would like to visit for a winter season from their home countries. Not retire, not work, not for education, just behave themselves, respect the country, its laws, and its people. Just chill!

You should be okay. They're not really all that concerned about past Visa exempt entries. They are looking at extensions of Visa exempt entries. That's the key. You will likely get a few questions, a bit of a scolding, and told to get a Visa next time. By the time 'next time' comes around ; all these 'rules' will have changed.

I’m confused. You’re coming in 2026, it’s a new year with a fresh reset.

What are you worried about?

RadiantPelican9733 Good to note, the Immigration Officers have been instructed to look for those that ABUSE the Visa Free Entries with Extensions to stay longer than the allowed 2 entries 60 days + 2 extensions 😊 Longer than 180 days) In the country, and thankfully, the travel history shared falls way outside those parameters, so you should be totally safe to enter the country without any hassles. Keeping in mind that most interactions with Officers last less than 2 or 3 minutes at best, being organised with your documents is Key, but if you feel the need to make 100% sure there is no hiccups, perhaps dress business casual at the very least and make sure be polite with any interactions with the officers that way you will have covered every base and should be totally clear to go enjoy you stay. I know you mentioned it, but just to reiterate, one thing they like to question is Proof of return, which a return flight definitely satisfies that requirement. Don't forget your 20,000 Baht Cash IN HAND (Showing the money in a bank account on a phone can be cause for a refusal) and have the Air BnB booking handy in case they ask and you are as good as gold. Safe travels and try to be good 👍

It’s a new year, you’re permitted 2 entries a year.

You don't have paperwork that shows that you arranged transport out of the country within 60 days?

It really depends on the IO. But looking at your travel pattern, you will most likely get questioned. Worst thing to happen, get denied entry. They will see those runs you had even if it’s from the previous years. Get the right visa.

As a retired Immigration counsel, especially the fact that the Entry you are seeking is at the start of the calendar year, I can fairly say, without any prejudice the messenger/poster, this post focused on a negative outcome is unwarranted as the Immigration Officers have been instructed to look for those that ABUSE the Visa Free Entries with Extensions to stay longer than the allowed 2 entries 60 days + 2 extensions ( = Longer than 180 days IN the Country), and thankfully, the travel history shared falls way outside those parameters, so with all your other requirements such as 20k Bahts in hand, Air BnB booking as well as Return Flight covered, and the fact 83 days falls way short of the allowable length of stay, there is absolutely no reason to worry about a refusal. ✌
