Thanks for all the feedback, guys. I guess I'll wait for them to get the WP3 in order before I apply for the visa. I do not want to go to HK and try it there,..better have ALL the paperwork 100% in order before applying.

I did..it is mentioned there and so of course I assumed that the information there is correct. But the thing is: my employee to-be was surprised when I mentioned that the WP3 is also needed according to the checklist! Now there is not enough time left for them to get that, unless I change my flight back etc :-( . - 2 companies I know they told me they also never used the WP3 before for their employees and it always worked out (Thai companies that have been around for 10+ years here).

Tod Daniels thanks for the feedback. Was this different before? My employer to-be says that when two of their employees went to get their B visas over a year ago, that paperwork was not required. - PS: This is for my first 90 days B visa, after which we will apply for my WP...so it is not yet for my 1-year visa.

Can it also be done at the Samut Prakhan immigration office? And did anyone go there and has advise on what time is best to arrive?
