No you need the fund available as cash in a bank account under your name. Just move the money in one account and wait 3 months before you apply. Don't apply before otherwise you'll lose the application fee

it's not gonna work. Just get him to transfer 500k THB into your bank account and you're good to go. If they are willing to support you it shouldn't be an issue

With regards to "One of their main issues seems to be what people are doing after their 6-12 month course is over", did you give specific details about your plan or just some rough ideas? Did you enroll for 9 months course?
