How do I complete the DTV application form while staying in a different country?

Hi everyone,

I’d like to ask for some clarification from those who have recently applied for the DTV, especially while being outside their home country 🙏

Scenario:

* Italian passport holder

* Habitual residence in Italy

* Currently in Bali (Indonesia) on a valid visa

* Applying for the DTV from Indonesia

* Will fly directly from Bali to Thailand once the visa is approved

In case of a new DTV application, I’d like to understand how to correctly complete the following fields:

STEP 1️⃣ – CURRENT LOCATION

(the field that determines the embassy / jurisdiction)

– Should this be the country where you are physically located at the time of application (Indonesia),

or the country of habitual residence (Italy)?

STEP 2️⃣ – HOME ADDRESS

– Should this be your official residential address in your home country, even if you are temporarily abroad?

STEP 4️⃣ – SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS: PROOF OF CURRENT LOCATION

– Should this refer to your current physical location (e.g. Indonesian visa / entry stamp / accommodation),

or to your home residence address?

I want to make sure everything is fully consistent and truthful, especially since I am applying from Indonesia and will not transit through Italy before entering Thailand.

Any real experiences or confirmed outcomes would be extremely helpful 🙏

Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking guidance on completing the DTV visa application while currently residing in Indonesia, with specific questions about filling out the current location, home address, and supporting documents sections. Several commenters provide feedback confirming that the 'current location' should reflect where the user is physically located (Indonesia), and they can use either their home address or current overseas residence for the home address field. They also mention that proof of current location should be based on the physical presence.

I'm in your same situation. Did you go to Jakarta to apply? We do not have a consulate in Bali. Keep us updated please. Many thanks

Thanks, Andi. I have one question: as proof of my current location, I will share my active VISA and the Ticket purchased to come to Bali. I'm staying at a friend's place, so I don't have a hotel booking...... is that enough?

And... why they want me to have a ticket to enter in Thailand when I dont yet know if my DTV is approved

Anonymous participant It is ok to give your friends' place instead of hotel. You can give an intended date of arrival in Thailand. What active visa do you have?
