Is it possible to apply for the Australian visa without having 500,000 baht in cash for the last 3 months on my bank account?

I don't have the required amount of 500000 baht for the last 3 months on my bank account (had some of it in stocks and some of it back home on a different bank account.

I moved my stocks now to my savings account . I will apply in a few weeks max. Is it possible to just explain this on the cover letter and mark on the statements so the embassy can see i actually that i had that money but just on different accounts or is this going to be a problem ?

I want to apply in Australia so maybe someone had a similar problem and can help me out here.

Don't want to "waste " a application because of that ...

Im going to apply for soft power btw. If that makes any difference.

Thank you for any answers πŸ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about applying for an Australian visa, specifically for a soft power category, without having the required 500,000 baht in one bank account for the past three months. They plan to explain the situation in a cover letter while highlighting their financial situation, where the funds were previously held in stocks and different accounts. Community comments suggest varying opinions on whether moving funds is acceptable, the importance of having the money available in a bank account under the applicant's name, and general advice on applying through an agent. The situation seems uncertain, and the community is divided, with some recommending to wait until the funds are in one account for three months before applying.

Anonymous participant because I’ve been reading these posts for over a year and Australian applicants often mention that their funds were not in the accounts for 3 months

But hey do your own search or wait the 3 months πŸ˜ƒ

was thinking Sydney but I read somewhere that I can only apply in Canberra. Apparently it does not work in Sydney when applying from Western Australia

500k baht is around $15,500-16,000 USD. checking account or savings account should qualify. if you can show money in a CD or annuity that can show your financially stable.

It's hard to say. It will definitely help if you can provide staments for the entire time showing the money was as "cash" on some bank account, also if it's two or more. Moving it between bank accounts "should" not matter.

Many embassies don't like crypto and are also shy with stock. So it has to be cash in in major fiat currency. If you can prove the required amoint in cash, I'd say go for it.

If not, I would first try to contact the embassy and see how they are responding. If not responding at all, I'd rather wait until your application is bulletproof.

Pay the small fee an agent charges - for peace of mind and for their accurate understanding of the current rules and any changes.

I used Siam Legal in Bangkok for myself + wife + kids, successful application. They will have multiple success stories with Australians + will know of any rules slightly different to other countries, so they can guide you well.

Your financial gymnastics are none of their concern

They only want to see the money needed in an acceptable account per the structure of the visa

What you do to get there is totally on you and nobody else other than you

Good luck in your financial gymnastics

DTV_Begpacker "What you do to get there is totally on you and nobody else other than you"

Its entirely dependant on where you apply.. The same app outlined above could both be issued or denied depending on application location and nothing else.

London for example has no seasoning requirement. Its 'where' as well as your own situation.

DTV_Begpacker your bank account is.. But how much duration the embassy you apply at needs is 100% on them.

Some issue on a balance of 500, some need 3 or more months of over 500.. Some have accepted investment accounts.. Some have accepted multiple accounts for a total balance.. All kinds of outcomes depending on location of application. Basic fact.

when applying for soft power it's better also explaining how you are going to sustain yourself (here you can list any income you have, plus any investment)

No you need the fund available as cash in a bank account under your name. Just move the money in one account and wait 3 months before you apply. Don't apply before otherwise you'll lose the application fee
