we all know exactly which I/O you are referring to! Ugh! She was not going to let my mother in because "obviously this is a fake address" on her tm6. Should have seen her face when I whipped out my Thai drivers license and said "really, it is good enough for the Land Transportation dept." I/O processing me in the next line almost lost it trying not to laugh!

you must be either new in Thailand or under 30.

You will get stamped in visa exempt for 30 days, if Canada is 1 of the countries that gets that. You can extend it 1 time for 30 days. Be prepared to show proof of funds, proof of onward travel, and explain why you did not get another proper visa.That being said you may just get stamped in and waved off, but a friend last week with his wife, got pulled aside and interrogated before being allowed it. It seems the 4000b inside his passport the last time he handed it to them to look at contained all the proper answers they were looking for.

The fact that you have not done it, and never had an issue has nothing to do with the fact that Jomtien Immigration is requiring it to do any type of extension of stay or any other business at their office.
