I would like a new iPhone in Thailand when I arrive. Any recommendations for good deals with mobile plans?

My old mobile phone is kaput.

I need to find a cheap but up to date and reliable smartphone I can also use when back home in UK.

Heading to Thailand in a couple of days and in need of a second hand phone, just an older model iPhone I can use with a Thai sim. Does anyone know if it would be cheaper to get one here in the uk or to get one while I’m there ? TIA

So if I have (2) iPhones, one purchased in Thailand and entering Laos will I be taxed at either ports (exit/entry)? TIA

I got a SIM card at the airport and now when I book hotels ,airfare I get email confirmations in Thai,,is it the SIM card, on all my other trips this never happened,,does anyone know the reason,I’m a iPhone user?

(Edit) I bought a MBP for this trip I set it via the prompts it never told me to make a password only the finger print reader now I can’t open it because it says I need a password,I have a brick with me basically…

My iPhone isn’t paid off so I can’t use a different sims card. What other option do I have for internet? Do they still do the portable hotspots? Recommendations?
