We are talking about marriage and it’s two months seasoning is all that’s required for marriage financial requirements. You can do as you please and want after that. No need to keep the ฿400,000 in after you have your under consideration stamp in your passport. Retirement requirements are totally different and more financially restrictive.

Sorry Tod. Am I missing something .

Shouldn’t that read most offices dont request keeping the ฿400k in your account. And like you reiterated at the end it’s not a rule. So you’d say to the IO could you point that out to me in the rules. And thank him for clearing this up and be on your way. They might ask to see your bank book again. Which you would show them and it would show your activity of your account over the under consideration stamp period. Most offices don’t request that. It’s very different to a retirement financial requirements most importantly the one of being married only 2 months seasoning nothing else. Your wife might only want to give her money for two months.!

MOST offices request you keep the 400K baht in the account during the "under consideration" period from the stamp you get when you apply for the extension. but it is not an official rule.

I've been living in Thailand for 10 years and travel domestically and internationally every year. I'm on an Extension of Stay marriage visa and we've never had to do the TM30 until recently, except when renewing my EofS where it becomes part of the EofS process. This year, the authorities asked my wife and me why we hadn't done the TM30 reporting and we were a bit shocked! 🤗🤔

Yes I’d agree this is true until there is a niccup with immigration then all of a sudden the TM 30 rules apply within 24 hrs of arrival at the residence.
