I have used mainly Emirates for the last 20 years. Have tried Qatar a few times but now 2 stops since Covid, Turkish and Lufthansa both OK. Booked for October Emirates were the cheapest and imo the best.

Depends on how much you intend to spend and how long you're going to live.

It would be a lot easier and cheaper for your wife and a Thai friend / relative to work there, you maybe work discretely in the background doing the books and collecting supplies from Makro.

Many of the measures have been used and extended to stifle political protests and the economy has taken a major hit with little support for individuals and business affected. Plus initial vaccine rollout was very slow.

Mobile banking works fine for a lot of transactions but many times need to receive OTP code on phone for authorisation. I put my UK sim in an old phone.

Thailand Pass is for your first entry into Thailand, you still need the correct visa for your stay. Because of travel restrictions due to Covid-19 you are really complicating things by planning to leave and then re-enter Thailand. You would need to do another Thailand Pass if applicable or enter under other quarantine rules that apply to that country.

And anything that applies now could change in the time period you are talking about.
