What are the implications of Thailand's new travel regulations for international travelers?

Jan 8, 2023
2 years ago
What is going on in Thailand? The new regulations for international travellers make absolutely no sense. They say they do not want to discriminate any individual country but this is already the case with visa free travel. 15 days for some countries 30 for others etc. Other countries have imposed requirements for Chinese arrivals only, why can't Thailand do the same? 🤪🤪

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation raises concerns over Thailand’s new travel regulations for international visitors, highlighting the inconsistencies in visa-free travel durations for different countries and the absence of rules specifically targeting travelers from China amid ongoing global health discussions. Commenters debate the necessity and fairness of these regulations, express frustration over the lack of advance notice for travelers, and discuss broader implications for the tourism industry. Many participants view the regulations as economically motivated, particularly in relation to Chinese tourists, and consider the overall public reaction to these measures.

Health Minister Anutin is a wealthy politician who wants to be PM. His construction company make huge profits from China and he is in debt to them. Basically he is the Donald Trump of Thailand.

@Lynnette ******
You totally missed the fact that I put "evidence" in inverted commas, which means I am suggesting it's not evidence at all, but just BS they've obtained from Facebook! Lol lol lol
Lynnette *******
@Steve *******
I was agreeing with you. . 😉
Paul *******
@Paul ************
yes but does his construction company carry out work in China? I doubt it. I don't think the Chinese would be interested in, or have the need for foreign Civil engineering firms. Now I do realize that the name "Sino-Thai engineering" implies a Chinese connection, but much like "Italian-Thai", both are now wholly Thai owned enterprises regardless of how they originally began.

Anyway, you are correct that he certainly has some sort of business interests in China.
Paul *******
Entry rules have always been political from day 1. Even back in 2020.
Paul *************
He is making the rule to appease China. He is not a doctor. The entry rules are simply political.
Steve ********
@Paul ************
Absolutely correct. And so many posters here cannot see that, and are quoting and citing medical "evidence" which means absolutely nothing.
Lynnette *******
@Steve *******
no, medical evidence is always worthless. Should bear that in mind when they ever get a diagnosis that requires treatment based on evidence. Lol

The biggest problem seems to be the lack of notice. Many travelers will already be on their way and may have left their certificates at home. Not wise but will cause bedlam at airports

Stéfan ********
I think this is a temporary measure and a bit of a knee jerk reaction. And yes, it's definitely being applied to seduce what use to be Thailand's number one client market. It's simple logic really: most regular travelers got vaxxed, as traveling supersedes any other concerns for most of them.
Paul *******
@Stéfan *******
it's a knee jerk reaction, but don't assume it will be "temporary". It's very likely to be extended to appease the terrified Thai public who are still gripped in fear.

Citizens of neighboring countries are starting to have a good laugh at how brainwashed Thais are, unable to stop wearing masks even in 2023.

It's pretty amazing to me that there is much more freedom in Communist Laos and Vietnam than Thailand.

Last year Laos, China (Jinghong), Myanmar and Cambodia all allowed or at least tolerated their water splashing festivals (traditional new year) in April. In Jinghong, thousands of MASKLESS revelers splashed water on equally MASKLESS police officers!

In Thailand meanwhile, those who splashed water were threatened with prosecution. They were instructed by the police and army who came in "to restore order" (LOL) to pour out water and put on masks!

After that display of tyranny, I will never think the same of Thailand again. You know something is seriously wrong when there is more freedom in China than Thailand.
Paul *******
Most of that increase has been in unvaccinated Africa, not countries like Thailand with extremely low fertility rates.
Steve ********
@Didrik ********
It's not me living under a rock, I think it's you and your Bitchute mates. Can you explain the depopulation theory when the daily birth rate presently is double the death rate, and a month or so ago, the population of the world hit 8 billion people? It doesn't seem to be working too well does it? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Steve ********
@Didrik ********
Couldn't give a stuff. The "excess deaths" means nothing. There's 5.5 billion people worldwide have been vaccinated. No one's dying. I have a full medical check up every twelve months. Had two since the second shot. In superb physical condition. Oh, and mental condition too!
Didrik *********
@Steve *******
You obviously have lost it. Excess deaths means nothing? Well, they are STATING, that more people than normal are dying. No one's dying? You just made it clear to the world, that you have no freaking idea what you are talking about. What about the 168.011 people that died OVER the average the last 5 years in England and Wales. According to you, they didn't die, or.....? You don't have any statistic supporting your childish statement.
Steve ********
@Stéfan *******
Correct. I didn't get the vax because I was frightened of covid. What I wanted was the freedom to continue travelling...and it worked
Didrik *********
@Steve *******
Not regretting your decision? Or isn't the excess death numbers high enough for you?
Alistair **********
@Didrik ********
hahaha it's funny how you all said if someone was hit by a bus but had covid they were a covid death. Now it's the opposite, any death is apparently vaccine related. Hilarious
Didrik *********
@Alistair *********
Are you still believing in the lie, that the vaccines are saving you from the death of a virus, not stronger than the flu? Jesus you people are easy to fool. Have you not seen statistics over the excess deaths all over the world? Well, I really don't care, the vaccinated are dying and getting their lives ruined by sideeffects. Have you ever read about an unvaccinated having sideeffects? Their mission is to kill of as many as possible, so be my guest, get number 3, 4 and 5 for all I care. Here are the OFFICIAL numbers from NSW Australia, no reason to believe they will go down or that they are different i other places. Doesn't loo good for the vaccinated if you ask me.
Alistair **********

why? Is Thailand the only country in the world? There are 154 countries out of roughly 200 that are fully open now with no testing, no vaccination proof, no restrictions on entry of any kind..so Thailand is back to restrictions. Simple- boycott and choose a friendlier country. Besides, with most Thais still viewing unmasked foreigners like the plague, it can feel uncomfortable and intimidating traveling in Thailand right now.

The fear is extreme. I can see the terror in the eyes of the masked zombies.

check the international news ,your wrong. Many countries , including mine the US are requiring vaccinations for people from China.
Paul *******
@Edna ******
Other countries are requiring only a test from Chinese arrivals. If you, as a US citizen were to return to the US but began your journey in or transited through China, you too would be required to show proof of a negative Covid test. You would not be required to show proof of vaccination though. A Chinese national would be.

To return home to the USA from Thailand transiting in Canada, any Asian country except mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau or Europe/Middle East, NO test or vaccine is required for you BUT for the same journey, proof of vaccination (but not a test) IS required for a Thai national who does not hold permanent residency in the USA.
Paul *******
@Edna ******
The US is requiring vaccinations from ALL foreigners. It's one of only around 15 countries still requiring this.

You check the news - 154 countries (and rising) don't require anything. The USA is NOT among them.

You're in complete denial. What are you going to say to all the passengers that were denied boarding yesterday and today?

The rule was overturned, which is great news. However, it doesn't mean much for those who were turned away and will probably seek out other destinations now.

For everyone else, it will take time for airlines to update their systems as they have to wait for the CAAT to communicate the new rules with them, which now cancel the recently released ones.
Leon ********
Paul *******
@Leon *******
The rule was overturned. However, your comprehension skills are severely lacking. My point is that many passengers have been denied boarding. Some will continue to be denied until it is communicated to the airlines that this rule should no longer be applied.

Therefore, you could face difficulties traveling today. By Wednesday or Thursday, things should be back to normal.

Any adult with common sense can figure this out except you.
Leon ********
@Paul ******

Airlines will not and cannot take this responsibility unless there is a law enforcing it. Any person denied entry without a law published in the Government Gazette can sue both airline and CAAT.

Secondly, MANY airlines ARE already implementing this new rule. THAI is. Qantas is. Turkish Airlines are. KLM is. The rest will probably follow within 24 hours.
Paul *******

sure, but Thailand prevented Thais from returning at the beginning too and foreigners for many months. Also, Thais are the biggest sheeple ready to accept anything the government throws at them. Mask wearing remains at nearly 100% of the population even outdoors in any Thai city. Neighbors such as Laos and Cambodia stopped masking almost a year ago. Thais are the biggest sheeple I've ever seen. Totally indoctrinated, unable to think for themselves. I think less of the country as a result and I don't think I can ever develop the same positive image of the country I had 3 years ago.

By contrast, Laotians and Cambodians, Burmese etc. only complied when they were subjected to harsh restrictions.
Steve ********
@Gary ********
It's risk management. To test everyone or bring back quarantine would cause immense problems, so the easy way is to request vax certificates, makes sense to me. Easier to check a vax certificate than to carry out a test
Gary *********

they don’t test anyone. Do as they did before, produce the test before you fly. Quarantine, just as before if needed.

I live in Singapore so no other options was available for us for a very long time - either get vaccine or don’t travel or even enter supermarket. I believe it’s similar in China so it’s up to Thai government who they value more for business
Gary *********
@Lana **********
I hope you don’t think all you had to put up with is the right way. Banning people from travelling, going into supermarkets is a sign of a tyrant government, and there’s no evidence that all they put in place saved lives. In fact studies are showing now more people are sadly dying that during the so call pandemic.
Lana ***********
@Gary ********
I don’t think it was right but I had to make a choice between bad and very bad. If you think you can change Thai’s government structure - go ahead and try. Otherwise, it’s best to stay in your own country with democratic government (I presume)- I have no idea what they are as I think most EU countries, US, Canada, Australia and NZ all had lockdowns, vaxx certs etc - and they also allowed doctors to refuse seeing patients “with symptoms”, something that most Asian countries didn’t do
Steve ********

Australia closed the country, and wouldn't let the people leave....or I should say sheep, because the people just accepted that they were being held prisoner against their wishes

of course, their country, their rules. Won’t be permanent.

As I said though, the proposed suggestions make no sense. Letting untested vaccinated travel, but possibly not allowing unvaccinated who prove they’re negative is just madness and makes no sense.

The Thai government has merely introduced a risk management strategy, based on medical advice. It seems they haven't listened to the REAL facts as published on Bitchute and other whacky conspiracy theory websites. Every country on the planet has differing entry requirements for different countries. It's always been the case. As an Aussie I can just turn up at Heathrow and be admitted at no cost. discrimination against those who haven’t been vaccinated, for what ever reasons.

Makes no sense with their possible rules, and doesn’t protect anybody not letting unjabbed in. A simple pcr test and even quarantine again is more than enough.
