Sorry, never heard nor read about it. (but that's not holy 😉) I think you mean year extentions based on "O" visa ? Grandfathered amounts are only from a certain (high) age.

And I think Charlie, when coming in with a tourist visa, you have to get a re-entry permit before you leave Thailand for outside Thailand trips ! This because a Tourist visa normaly is Single Entry. However there ARE Multi entry Tourist visas.

, that's not a visa. Visa cannot be renewed. I think you mean an extension of stay. And indeed, when you entered before on a non imm O, you still need NO insurrance.

What are some recommendations for reasonably priced health insurance in Thailand?

I made health insurance WRLife, at aa insurance brokers. Age 65, quarterly payment 16,667฿ two months ago. 600.000$ covered, and accepted by my Thailand Pass yesterday. AA said honnestly that they have yet no experience with this company. But their policy looked okay to me. I don't hope to use them anyway for lets say 10 years, ha ha.
