I'm planning to take out a multientry Tourist visa from ~November. However, somewhere around October I'm planning to go to Japan, and I'll possibly visit Bangkok for a week or two on the way. Is it okay to use a visa exemption for September-October if I have a multientry visa prepared for November?

Or if I have a multientry visa, I have to use it as soon as I arrive?

Hi. I got from the Thai Embassy in Spain a multientry 1 year length O-A visa valid from Sept 2023 to Sept 2024.

I plan to fly to Thailand on November 2023. Will I get 1 year stay stamp on my passport until November 2024? I read some posts here mentioning they just got only 90 days and after it need to extend 1 year.

In order to extend this visa next November 2024 (if this is the case) I plan to go with 800K method. I have few doubts about it.

1. Can I transfer the money on any date and still will be ok for the extension? Let's say I send it on December 2023 to avoid possible new taxation regulation coming next year ? or would it be too early to be accepted for the extension next year ?

2. Do I need to tag the bank wire as "to renew O-A visa" similar as the transfers to buy a condominium where it needs to state "to buy xxx condominium" ?.

3. Once the 800k are transfered to my Thai bank account, do I need to open a fixed deposit or can it be in any savings account ? is it enough just to show any thai bank account with average balance over 800k?

Thank you so much in advance. I really enjoy reading all your posts here. it's a great source of aknowledge helping all of us.

I have a 6-month METV multientry visa, but I read that it is valid from the moment the visa is issued.

I don't know so because the other times the 180 days started the moment I entered Thailand,What do you think?

Wonder if someone can advise - looking at traveling to Thailand in June but would also like to visit Vietnam and Cambodia. I’m looking at traveling for 8 wks so will arrive in Bangkok and will look to stay 3 wks then move on for couple of weeks and then back. Will the Tourist visa be okay ? As I won’t stay longer than 30days ?

Penang FYI: Just received my 1 year multi-entry Non-Imm B.

The consulate staff gave very good, efficient, quality service. I showed up at 7:15AM via grab and was 2nd in line. By 8:30 there were about 50 people in line. I didn't see a single visa agent. The guard came out at 8:45 to disuccs some things I'll mention below, and then let everyone in at 8:50. At exactly 9:00am, 10 applicants at a time are allowed to enter the lobby to turn in applications. Signs outside indicate they are taking 100 applications per day. I was out by 9:15am after turning in my appliation and answering some basic questions specific to my circumstances. I returned the following day at 1:45pm to pick up my visa. I was allowed the waiting area at 1:55pm. I was in the 2nd group to enter the lobby at 2:15pm and was out and finished by 2:30pm. Quality, straightforward experience overall.

Hopefully the following notes will provide some additional clarity for those going in the near future:

1. They asked for my actual work permit, in addition to the copy. A couple of years ago I was advised to never take my WP out of the country, so I was a little confused by this and thankful my immigration lawyer advised me to take it.

2. They required "managing director" for the job description.

3. They required the visa application to have the Penang Consulate header. They would not accept the Visa application with the KL header. They passed out the proper applicatoin forms at 8:50am via the guard.

4. They somewhat enforced a dress code. No open toed shoes, no exposed shoulders or "revealing tops", conservative skirts/pants, etc. The consulate was a very nice, very well kept, professional looking place. The consulate staff appreciate and kindly ask for the respect of the visa applicants through cultrually and situationally appropriate dress.

5. My flight and hotel information and Malaysia entry stamp was not requested. This was likely due to my application being non-B rather than tourist.

I'm doing a visa run to Bali. A friend of mine is providing a letter + passport copy to show I'm staying with him in Thailand. Is there a special form to fill in for this? Thank you!

A friend of mine got in August a multientry NON-B. Just few days ago he flew out and after 24 hours he flew back in. He got a permission of stay of 90 days and no problem, BUT he never had a work permit because he quit the job after few days he got that visa in August. Is this situation weird? I mean, entering again without the WP. Is that visa should have been cancelled after he quit the job? Was he just lucky or is it a normal situation?
