Hi all, I want to ask those who are living in Thailand full time, what type of health insurance have you gone for and who with? Struggling to find a good one for myself as a foreigner that’s not a scam or where someone else is getting paid to advertise it. Many thanks in advance!

I am shopping around for Health Insurance. I don't plan to renew with the company I currently have a policy with because I am really not satisfied with their customer service.

Based on my comparison of existing companies, I am down to AIA and AXA.

For those of you that have a policy with one of these companies, I would like to know your personal experiences:

- How is the customer service? Is it easy to get answers to questions and a fast response?

- If you have had to submit a claim, was it easy to get a payment (either direct pay or reimburse) or were you subjected to a long and arduous "analysis" process?

- For those of you that are in the 70+ age group, are the premiums still affordable or do they skyrocket? I am 57 years young, but I want to know what type of increases I need to expect in the future.

Thanks in advance for your help!

In case anyone is wondering, I am not satisfied with my current insurance company because:

1. Their customer service is very poor. They either do not respond to queries, or end up answering them after a very long time (more than 1 week) and multiple reminders.

2. I have had to submit a small claim (2500 baht), and have been submitted to a barrage of questions and documents that I have needed to provide. Each time I send a document, additional documents and information are being requested in piece-meal fashion. After more than one month, I still have not gotten and response.

Annual In patient Health Insurance.

I am looking for annual health insurance that carries from aged 60 to 80yrs+.

I seek advice from people who have had both good and bad experiences when actually making a claim. Companies like Pacific Cross, axa etc have policies but its peoples personal experiences that matter.

I am in Bangkok and understand that the Insurance broker used is equally important as, although they all get standard commission on sales, their support and communications in making the process of claiming, simple, is crucial.

I don’t seek 5 star accomodation or VIP treatment, just a policy to cover all expenses, paid directly to a hospital for serious unexpected events like stroke, heart attack or serious accident. I have no health issues.

I think any advice/ experience from members and even brokers will be helpful to all members

Any advice greatly appreciated.
