There's a guy in my town who has a huge blue parrot that flies along following him when he rides his motorbike. Once it started circling me and trying to land on me as I was riding along.
I've had this for months now with google. Even though I have settings set to translate to English, the Google Search is always in Thai, only changes to English after I make a page selection.
No it's extremely easy if you have a current licence in English from your home country.... They accept it and it's basically just the same as a Thai person renewing their license rather than a new application. Having said that, there's separate car and bike licenses here. I always advise people to obtain their bike licence back home first. If you don't have a bike licence already the process will be longer and require a practical test. Otherwise one can obtain both licenses easily in about 2 -3 hours. Just have to do quick eye test, reflex test and sit through a video in Thai that means nothing if you can't speak the language but they force you sit there anyway, I was lucky they let me leave the video early.
yeah Bangkok is like another planet compared to the far south! Each to their own, I can only handle Bangkok for a couple of days myself, I love a good burger too, but a real one, to me Maccas tastes awful.
Ao Nang almost all the crappy foreign fast food places are shut the Thai places are doing OK though and there's enough foreigners to keep a quality restaurants open when you need a feed from home or a decent coffee.
