Reporting latest experience. Yesterday transferred the monthly 65000 baht from my Australian bank account via Wise (Funds for longstay in Thailand) to my Bangkok Bank account. Transfer initiated at 9:40am, funds arrived in Bangkok Bank account sometime between 12:30 and 12:50pm correctly noted on the account as an international transfer, for immigration purposes. Transferred funds for rent and internet at around 1:30pm. Used QR Promptpay scan four times between 4:00pm and 8:00pm.
At 2:30pm ordered 12-month statement from bank app (for immigration purposes this coming week), which arrived via email at 4:30pm.
I'm on non-O retirement extension, BB customer for eight years.
Absolutely no problems, account not frozen or suspended.

Question for DTV holders currently (or were recently) in Thailand: Now that access to a Thai bank account has been cutoff, how are/did you pay(ing) your rent?
I am leaving for Thailand on retirement visa initially with non O visa via Siamlegal.
As understood Australian Authorities allowed maximum A$ 10000 in cash carriage to overseas. I have WISE ACCOUNT and TRAVEL MONEY CARD and COMMON BANK ACCOUNT. My question is what is the best way to transfer the money requirement of THB 800000 in Thai Bank account for retirement visa. I am looking foward your valued inputs.
Okay I have the next dumb question. My buddy is trying to transfer money from Bank of America to Bank of Thailand. He's doing a wire transfer and he's not using wise so let wise go. When we went to do the transfer it asked did we want to use Thai baht, US dollars or euros. We did an experimental run of a thousand US dollars. We chose Thai baht and it gave us an exchange rate of 31.61. not a great exchange rate. Now the question is should we have picked US dollars and then let Bank of Bangkok convert it. Please let us know what you guys think would be the best choice in this quest to bring money to Thailand.
For those using Wise - I've been asked to verify my old uk address. Obviously I can't do that, so is it easy to use my Thai address? What docs needed? 🙏 - J
I might be a bit naive here but how to move 800k from Canada to a Thai bank? is it wire transfer? can I do this from thailand or do in canada. I do not have a thai bank account now
