by tits up I mean: first year I tried swift transfers. My uk bank messed up the 5th transfer and failed to tell me. By the time I found out it was too late I made a complaint during which it became apparent to them that I was living in Thailand so they closed my account. I had to return to UK to sort that out. In addition, it took at keast 30 minutes on the phone e each month setting up the transfer as they could not set up a direct debit and I had to go through all the details time after time. Year two went OK using Wise to Bangkok Bank. This year with all the banking issues with BB I am unable to find out if transfers have been coded correctly. It us just not worth the hassle. Some people use agents to get extensions. I can't understand that waste of money but many claim it saves them time and hassle. Banked money us a no brained now for me.

if it were to cause me a problem then I would question it but as it never has I dont make an issue of it. This year might be different with all the banking issues I have faced. Could you answer my original question please as I know your answer will most likely be correct? Thanks.
if you are changing from banked money to monthly payments then you need to do both for the first year. In other words you have to honour the requirements of banked money AND make 12 monthly payments of not less than
*****
baht. You can remove
*****
0 of the banked money after 3 months but the rest must stay there until you have received your extension based on monthly payments. At that time the other
*****
0 baht can be removed and you continue making monthly payments. In my experience, having used both methods, I can honestly say that banked money makes for an easier and more stress free life which might or might not be worth missing out on a bit of interest for.
