I do it every year. 17,000 and my money gets 5% in my home account. Just over 20,000 baht better off than locking 800k in the thai account

Yes. After I had electrical wiring burn out late February the thai sparky came and cut the burnt out wiring out and twisted together with tape. (TIT). Power use escalated several months. AC compressor was rooted. Owner replaced. Bill went from 2200 down to 1100 this period. I ran daily and weekly checks to gauge wtf was happening. Now I put the air conditioning on whenever I want. Lol. But it's pretty easy to buy a cheap clamp test meter if the original poster thinks Power may be syphoned and test the draw. When I turn the bathroom light on the firestick and TV goes off.. Obviously not a balanced circuit . Older rental. And this is Thailand.

Simple way is buy a cheap clamp test meter.

Check out the amperage draw.

Turn off things and turn on.

Put the clamp on the meter cable and see what amps are being used.

My ac had a dodgy compressor.

Was chewing 2200 a month.

Owner replaced it.

Bill is less than 1000 now.

And super cool..

If it reads current draw with everything off then someone else is tickling the supply.

488 down to 270 with a new air conditioner.

. I know it usually draws comments the agent or immigration direct method. But there's a lot of people who do it. I go through Buriram. Which goes through Kohn kaen. All official stamps. Receipts. Jomtien immigration and Hua hin does it also. Plus others. I'm not married to my partner. So it would be 65k transfer monthly, or 800,000 maintained balance in a thai account . Horses for courses as they say...

. Each to thier own. About 40% do it that way and earn decent interest rates on the money in thier bank account back home.

Use an agent or direct payment to immigration. They complete the 800k requirements. Immigration issues the 1 year extension. (So im told lol)

If you are going to chat to an agent or immigration, there's also the 17,000 path and keep your money in a decent bank account with interest.

Many do it.

(Just an option)
