Acquisition of existing groups or forums is a good way to get mailing lists and databases for the acquisition price..

As long as the service doesn't deteriorate..

You will probably realise that several of the bigger forums are not done as a community service.

The administration and moderation plus member contributions they get for free..

Several knowledgeable people who make them what they are.

I think I had a tag of conversation starter at one stage..

I still make sure what I put up is factual or supported.

Its been a fantastic service regardless of the ownerships, several of the forums.
