Hi advice on going from 800k I the bank to 65k a month. My question is I been sending at least 65k per month since February and hold 400k in my bank account now. Visa is due in October. Is this possible to get my visa if I continue to do this and is there a agent that will help me gain my visa. Good advice but have been told it can be a combination of both. Providing that it meets 800k total. So are there any agents out there that can help

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on transitioning from the 800,000 baht requirement to a 65,000 baht monthly income method for a Thai retirement visa, with concerns about their current bank balance and upcoming visa expiry in October. Community responses indicate that the user must maintain 800,000 baht for three months before switching to the monthly transfer method. They also need to track monthly deposits for a year before using this income method for visa renewal, and it's suggested that individuals check with their local immigration office regarding specific requirements. Additionally, some agents can assist with the process.

I changed to monthly payments in February. I had 12 payments of
*****
baht showing as international to my BB. I provided statements printed from the banking app but Tey also asked fir statements from my home bank to prove where the money had come from. I dud not need a letter from the bank or to have my statements verified. With monthly payments you can do what you like with them so I send some back to home bank to use again next month.

If you are going to chat to an agent or immigration, there's also the 17,000 path and keep your money in a decent bank account with interest.

Many do it.

(Just an option)

@David ******
can you explain what the
*****
path is please because I have never heard of it?

Use an agent or direct payment to immigration. They complete the 800k requirements. Immigration issues the 1 year extension. (So im told lol)

@David ******
sounds like a path to a load of trouble to me.

. Each to thier own. About 40% do it that way and earn decent interest rates on the money in thier bank account back home.

@David ******
I use monthly payments now so no money tied up in Thai bank except what I want to spend.

. I know it usually draws comments the agent or immigration direct method. But there's a lot of people who do it. I go through Buriram. Which goes through Kohn kaen. All official stamps. Receipts. Jomtien immigration and Hua hin does it also. Plus others. I'm not married to my partner. So it would be 65k transfer monthly, or 800,000 maintained balance in a thai account . Horses for courses as they say...

I tried to do that this year with my marriage visa to free up the
*****
0 THB. I work here and my salary is paid directly into my Thai bank account. I gave them 12 months bank statements plus 12 months payslips they dismissed them and insisted on the
*****
0 THB being in the account.

You can have a combination, provided however that your embassy in Thailand provides to you with the supporting letter to verify that this is your monthly income. Please ensure the first three months after granted the latest retirement visa, the deposited amount is remained at least 800k. So, you are qualified to have an extension.

I am led to believe if your embassy certified and verifies your pension income you do not need 800,000 in any case, is this true? it’s also what I’ve read on the handout from korat immigration , I went there earlier this year because I am planning on retiring to Thailand this Christmas and I hold an Irish passport which the appropriate embassy still certifies pension income.

@Liam **********
yes, either bank deposit or income statement or both combinations.

The combination method of banked funds plus international transfers is unheard of these days so if your Immigration Office will accept that you will be very, very lucky. Your only option for this year will be the 800k again or, if appropriate, switch to a marriage extension with your existing 400k.

I think its better just to keep the 800K in your Thai bank account all the time, then it stops all the hassle. I know Onestop Service at the bottom of Soi 6 can do the process for you. His name is Mark and their brilliant. This is what he's text me-

You can use your income method provided. It’s paid directly into a Thai bank account from passive income. You can not use your English. Bank Account is proof to renew the Visa if you wish to use your own ฿800,000 it must be into three months fullfor you to renew it using this method or we can simply take you to the bank and do the funding process for you on the day. Plus

bht re-entry permit.

I think it works out about
*****
bht total, that's a roundabout about estimate.

Feb 25 till Oct 25 only 9 x 65,000 deposits: you will not be able to use the 65,000 route yet for 2nd extension. 3rd will be fine. You will need 800,000 2 months before October application (and prove you maintained 400,000 during the year + 800,000 for 3 months after 1st year extension)

Bring your bank balance back up to bt800,000 at least two months before October, as you can not change over until you have at least 12 continuous months of transfers. You need your bulk financial method for another year.

12 months statements needed and it's 1 page per month 500 baht total pay. I've changed this method myself this March

First year 800,000 for 12 months from the start date of your retirement permit , not your no 0

Second year
*****
0 for 3 months.And then you can take it down to 400,000 minimum at the same time, you

Need 65,000 every month. Ideally 1 month before your renewal permit date started showing that it's an international transfer for 12 months

3rd year keep putting in 65,000 each month and you can spend everything
Tony **********
@Nigel *******
think you can convert at 2nd extension. No need for additional year.

@Tony *********
I had to leave 400 on my 2nd year maybe it's changed probably need to check with local immigration office it's a big mistake if we get it wrong 👍👍
John **********
You need a full 12 calendar months of transfers of a minimum of 65k baht each and every month before you apply for your next extension. You must also honour the terms of your current extension, so 800k minimum for 3 months after you got the extension and never below 400k for the rest of the year. Sounds like you are going to have to bring your account back up to 800k two full calendar months before applying for your next extension (3 months in some places so check with your immigration office). Don't stop your monthly transfers and you can use them the following year
Colin **********
Its also office specific, best to check with your local office.
Anna *********
You have to do the 65k deposit for 12 months to change over from the 800k method for extension is stay based on retirement and Feb to Oct is not 12 months so the simple answer is ( probably) no
Mark ********
@Anna ********
in theory, immigration rules are meant to permit a mixture of income and deposit, but Chiang Mai for one will only permit either 65k for 12 months or 800k and never the twain shall meet
Anna *********
@Mark *******
perhaps but not 400 k and 65k for 6 months. That is taking the Mickey

@Anna ********
don't disagree at all
