You usually need to enable use abroard, by phoning the card provider, telling them the country you want to use it and for how long. Ask them about fees and limits and such, while on the phone.

As far as I know foreigners can't get a monthly, like you would have in UK. Pre-paid only, registered to your passport

It used to be if you stay out of province, overnight, but now it's whenever the system gets updated, for example, when a hotel takes your passport and files a tm30, the system gets updated with their address, so needs re-updating with your home addresd when you get home. Only really an issue for 90 day reports or bank and driving license applications.

I use my Pink ID at hotels in Thailand, rather than my passport, so no need to file a TM30 when I get home. Many hotels accept Thai driving licenses as ID

Offices differ on what's needed... My local imigration do it all for me, I just give my passport and a passport photo and pay an extra 20 baht for photo copies, but it's not a busy office. In busy areas, they'd probably want me to have everything ready to save them time.

Not sure why they still need a passport photo, considering they take my photo with their webcam...

Stuart Cumming the tdac is a thai arrival card, no need to complete for entry to cambodia, but will need to do on re-entry to Thailand. Gives you something to do while sat waiting for your flight...

The TM30 needs to be filed every time you return home, if a TM30 has been filed at a hotel somewhere else in Thailand, or if you leave and re-enter thailand.

if you think someone might consider a 3 month stay as residency...

@Graham *****
the average joe doesn't know the intricacies of a retirement visa and an extension of stay based on retirement...

Since 90 days isn't much of a retirement and considering the context of the question, it's safe to assume the OP is referring to longer term stay...

@Graham *****
length of stay does... Which is determined by visa...

For tax, yes, everything else no

If taxed at source, nothing to pay here. You'll probably never be asked, but it's worth having pension statements and P60 as proof.
