I wonder if you are in an area that requires the TM30 and have not filed it, that will cause an issue. As well an address change, or typos when entering your data.
Hope you get it sorted out🙂
It's much faster and easier than a trip to the immigration office.
And extension of stay (which is not a visa). It is something you get as the visa is about to expire that gives you persimission to stay in the country for another period of time. For the so called "retirement" extension, that period is usually 1year. You still need to meet all the requirements to get the extension. And there is no limit to how many you can get....as long as you keep meeting the requirements.
I agree with most of what the others have posted about work permits and add a couple points. You can have multiple work places and even multiple employers listed in the one book. You can also have the work place as as a region. My company, for example, provides a freelance service and my "work area" is anywhere in Thailand.
Eric Watts I'm not Thai 🙂....but in Bangkok you can get an extension when you have, 45 days or less left in your current admitted to date. Some other offices are less at 15 days or less.
Coming in on a different visa is a good idea. And plan b could be to open your own business, as a few other freelancers have done.
I know that there are about 600 or so applications for press credentials submitted each year but only a small percentage are granted. The government wants as much control as possible and freelancers are hard to control. They don't have a parent company that can be held accountable or penalized.
Still, there are several freelancers that are regular contributors to different news agencies that are able to get the visa and credentials. You just have to keep at it.
